Description
I drew this up in 2 days ( actually about 2-3 hours of actual work over 2 days). My favorite mythical creature, as you can probably tell, is the lycanthrope, or werewolf. I didn't want to copy any franchise's version, but I was really influenced by several different concepts.
The premise of a werewolf in myth is a man who becomes a wolf by night, or is permanently transformed into a wolf like beast. By this logic, I wanted my werewolf to have both human and wolf anatomic elements.
For instance, the face is not completely covered in fur; I gave it facial hair, in positions where a human's facial hair would be located. The eyes and cheek muscles are distinctly human rather than canine.
The torso has a similar story. The base of the neck is thick and straight like a human's, but the upper torso is barrel-chested like a dogs. The abdominal muscles are tight and compact, indicating the torso is built to be bipedal and quadrupedal. The arms are, admittedly, more human than wolf, but the hands are a hybrid. The thumb is farther back like a dog's paw, but long and aposeable like a humans. The fingers are clearly canine, and fur covers the back of the hand.
The legs, although not shown, are muscular and digitigrade, combining the thigh strength of a biped, and the springiness of a quadruped.
I hope you like my concept.
