UPDATE Oct. 20th, 2008: Oh wow. Thank so much to ^Helewidis for giving this photo a DD! As an image about my years as a photographer, this is very personal to me, and makes me all the more grateful. What a great surprise to wake up to!
(Interesting timing-- I had some ideas for edits, which I had tried on the album cover version, that are now included in this version well.)

First off, yes this is definitely a photo about photography, which immediately makes this different. But, it also feels very "investigative," like surveillance of one's self.

Composition, Color, Contrast, Lighting i mean everything makes this photo beautiful and extraordinary.

This is an excellent shot. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so what better way is there to tell the biography of a photographer than through his or her pictures.
The way you are in the dark while the pictures are well lit are an excellent way to show the relation of the artist to his art, of the way his ego slowly leaves the flesh to settle in the canvas, so to speak.

I should say that this isn't a self-portrait. I'm a male photographer, and a friend/model plays the central role in this shot.

This one is really good, not only in concept but also in technique
I love the contrast between light and shadows for I think it confers to this piece an even great sense of emotion.
