Description Warning: Asteroid Strike

Doctor: 'We can't stop now, Derpy, keep going! Keep going! Computer! Get us out NOW!'

Derpy: 'Aww bye bye, kitty!'

-----------------------------------------------

The Doctor tries out a new time machine. The CTX Time Rover! XD

Well, I figured I'd continue the Disney crossovers into other realms. So here we go, straight from Disney World's Animal Kingdom, "DINOSAUR", formerly known as "Countdown to Extinction", if you remember it when the ride was opened. And I figured who better for a time machine ride than Doctor Whooves and his time traveling companion, Derpy!

Probably my favorite theme park ride of all time.

It's just so cool!

328 Layers (Nearly crashed my computer), Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop CS4, six hours.

That's what I meant: there's only so much space for the ride itself to fit into the overall park layout. They had to do a lot of the planning before they even began clearing trees out.

So I'm just saying, ya can't always fit everything a want into a creative work. (And Disney rides are certainly creative works, in a way.)

They were actually the first theme park rides to incorporate stories in their rides.

Indeed. I especially love the Splash Mountain one, as well as the old Epcot stuff, like Horizons and Universe of Energy.

I went on Universe of Energy just because of the irrelevant Fantasia sequence.

The OLD one from before the Exxon Valdez incident?

May you please tell me what that had to do with Disney?

It was after that they started changing the ride, taking the Exxon name off of it and then tweaking it every now and then.

When did it have the Exxon name?

Back when it opened and right up to the Valdez incident. The stuff in Epcot's Future World half all used to have "presented by [company name]". Gave it a World's Fair kind of feeling.

Okay then.
I'm looking at what the ride on this image used to be. Why did they have to change it?

After the Exxon Valdez ran aground and polluted a crapload of shoreline in Alaska it was kind of a public relations fiasco for Exxon, and Disney wanted no part of it.

Shouldn't this be common knowledge? I mean, I know I was a kid when that happened, but I still got the gist of it from the TV news.

Not to me. In fact, I had never heard of it until you brought it up.

...Good God, this is another age thing, isn't it? I remember because I was alive at the time and you're like some teenage thing that didn't exist until after I learned how to drive, right?

Well, we're on the internet. How are we supposed to know how old the other is unless they say so?
Come to think of it, I do remember that spill! I just didn't know the name.

the fact that you even honored the rides original name makes me love this XD

Well, that's the name I knew it by originally (and still call it that), so how could I not use it?

Also is makes a better title for the picture than "DINOSAUR". That names is just so... blunt.

Oh it was, still is too.

She must have missed the safety spiel. Also, they should tell her not to skewer muffins on the antennae, it might disrupt the homing beacon and that's not good.
