Description
Another day drew to a close, and still Tip couldn’t find her way back home. She knew the way was down, but in the gloom of the depths every ruin looked the same. And with what felt like a whole ocean to search, home felt further and further away. Like a needle lost in a daunting haystack so vast that even in a hundred lifetimes it wouldn’t be found.
“How many days have past now?” She said, quietly, to nobody in particular. In truth, it had been months since she left to find a way to free her father from his metaphysical bindings. That task having since been tossed aside when she found herself unable to find her way back home. In the whole of her travels she found nothing but questions. Questions she wished her mother was here to answer. Questions about the buildings, the machines, the bodies… everything embraced by the ocean’s salty veil.
At least she had the sunsets to enjoy, even if they were dreadfully lonely. In her head Tip wished she could enjoy them with someone, anyone really. Then, as if to reply to her thoughts, a fish came erupting from the surface of the water beside her. Her attention turned to it, and it fell back beneath the waves. ‘Perhaps it’s leap was to escape something?’ Tip thought as she rolled over to look below. But what she saw was no predator giving chase, in fact it was plainly something unable to move at all given the sign post through it. What Tip beheld was in fact, someone, or more aptly two someones stuck together below.
”Finally!” She said to herself in relief. “I’m not alone anymore.”
