ALright, so this is the last of the trio of gems I had originally intended to design, and they are gonna come as a bit of a package deal. I want to make a small little comic to kinda set the stage for them so they have a place in the universe, but that will come later lol.

So Era 3 is here, and I feel like the Diamonds aren't going to cease gem production altogether, but now that they've "improved" their empire their gems are going to be made with different purposes/uses/talents (although OBVIOUSLY they can choose their own paths now since divergence from their created purpose is okay I guess, but it's nice to make gems with a purpose so they have some sense of identity). This is going to be one of White Diamond's new gems, and she's kinda got a messed up purpose, she was also my most challenging concept. I designed her clothes based off of lower-class women's fashions from the 1800's since, while researching the stone, I saw that a lot of selenite is mined from the American midwest (including a huge quarry here in Utah).

I also derived her purpose from one of my crystal books, in which it mentions that selenite is a stone used to clear the user's mind and access the angelic consciousness, and amplify telepathy for a time. It is also used as an amplifying stone, and can be used to "boost" the powers of other stones as long as it has been charged properly. I thought this would be a really cool concept to translate into an SU character, which is why I gave her the specific traits she has.

I'm actually really excited to draw up some more concepts and visualizations with these SU fan characters, but like I said, that will have to wait for a few days since my work week is starting haha
