weaving in dull grays,
unappreciated heartbeats
turn to left behind yearnings

forget-me-not
the shallow truth
sweet, the bitterness
pawning at your restraint

clasped hands never mean
to deceive with radiation,
a hint of unlatching
brings in seasonal rains

letting go means as much
or even less, in solitude's crowd
standing in line
waiting for shelter from dry spells

dusted eyes collect longings
in quieted humbled breaths
fluttering yesterdays
a sandstorm once glittering promise

contempt of effort; a risk
trapping one yearning to be held
not by deception, but by warmth
found in another's open palms
