Description 16 year-old Johnny was at his desk in his final period class, the bell five minutes from ringing. He was the spitting image of a popular tenth-grade teen: Cool, bored with life, stuck up. He looked to his right and saw Mary, a girl whom he had a crush on. She was absorbed in a drawing in her lap, paying absolutely no attention to the teacher. Johnny decided to take a peek, and he was horrified at what he saw: She was drawing a dragon. It was beautiful; really, the dramatic vantage point, the exquisite shading, the details picture perfect, but Johnny HATED all lizards with a vengeance, especially dragons. He was afraid of the way lizards walked, their beady little slit pupils, their disgusting, forked tongues, everything. "W-what is that?" he asked Mary.

"It's a dragon," She said, tilting it in his direction so he could cringe at it in high-def horror. "You like it?" She asked with a smile.

"It's disgusting, get it away!" He said, averting his eyes. Even pictures of lizards frightened him. She just shrugged and continued drawing.

In a few minutes, the bell rang. Johnny walked outside, and Mary began to follow him. About a block away, he finally caught notice and asked, "What is it?"

"Nothing, it's just that my house is this way," She answered, and they remained silent. In another two blocks of walking, she picked up her pace and got alongside Johnny. "Why are you so afraid of lizards?" She asked. "It's just a drawing, it's not gonna jump off my binder and bite you," She asked.

"I don't know, I just hate them," He answered, and she scoffed.

"If you met a dragon and didn't run off screaming upon first sight, if you told him that, he'd probably think you're racist," She said.

"Good thing they don't exist," Johnny responded with a scowl. Mary scoffed again.

"A thousand years ago, people thought atoms didn't exist," She shot back.

"Well, at least atoms make sense," He said, not even glancing back. She just shook her head and mumbled to herself,

"If only you knew…"

"What?"

"Oh, nothing, nothing…" She soon came up to her street. She waved goodbye and walked away. "Good riddance," Johnny said to himself as he watched her enter her house.

Johnny walked along until he was less than a block from his house. Then, he suddenly heard, "Hey, she's got a point, you know," Johnny froze in his tracks and looked around, but no one was there. "Most dragons would think you're racist." He looked down and saw a big, red lizard. It must've been a foot long at least. "AGH!" He screamed and fell to the ground.

"No, really, if you said that to half the guys I know, they'd beat the crap outta you," The lizard said, advancing. Johnny scooted away on his bottom, and then his back hit the fence. He was breathing in and out heavily, gasping in terror at the talking lizard in front of him. "Well, you will see, you will see," The lizard said, now smiling an evil, toothy grin.

"W-what?" Johnny asked in fear.

"Tell me- do you hate yourself?" Johnny was too paralyzed in fear to answer. "Well, if you don't change your opinion of dragons pretty soon, then your self-respect will plummet, I guarantee it," And with that, the lizard bit Johnny on the ankle. He screamed in pain and grabbed his leg. "Have fun, former human," The lizard said and calmly walked back into the shrubs, laughing evilly all the while. Johnny sprang up and began running for home, the only thing going through his mind being 'poison'. He reached his door and swung it open. He limped into his living room where his mom and older sister were, and then he doubled over in pain. He looked down at the wound, and screamed at what he had seen: His leg had become longer and digitgrade, like a dog's hind leg, and red scales covered the entire thing. His shoe was torn up, and three big, stubby toes complete with black claws were left remaining where his old ones were. Speechlessly, he wiggled them around, and they responded perfectly to his command. "Oh my God, what's happening to me?!?" He screamed in terror, and his family rushed to his aid, although not able to do anything to stop his horrifying transformation. The scales advanced up his leg and hit his midsection. A red and orange tail shot out of his tailbone, tearing a large hole in the seat of his pants whilst doing so. "AAAAAAAUUUGGHHHHHHHHH!!!" He screamed as he finally realized what was happening. He was transforming into the demonic, hellish beast of his nightmares: A dragon. "MAKE IT STOP!!!" Johnny screamed in terror. "OH GOD, MAKE IT STOP!!! DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO ME!!!" He screamed in horror. Despite his pleas, the transformation continued on unfazed. His entire lower body was now draconic, and his family could only watch helplessly as he lost his humanity, bit by bit. He felt in terror as scutes proceeded up his belly. He clutched his scaled stomach, feeling in horror the ceramic-like platescales cover his chest. He opened his mouth to scream again, but instead let a stream of fire from his mouth up into the air. "AGH!" He screamed and flipped over. Two red and orange, leathery wings sprung from his shoulder blades, tearing two large holes in the back of his shirt. Obsidian black, 1/2 inch claws sprung from his fingers. "NOOO!!! I DON'T WANT TO BE A DRAGON!!!" He pleaded in terror as it proceeded up his neck. His face began pushing out, and Johnny thrust his hands up to his new snout, desperately trying to push it back, but his jaws simply grew on. He was crying helplessly now, sobbing at the humanity he was losing. Two double-curved, S-shaped horns sprung from the back of his head and his human teeth fell out, replaced by draconic fangs and molars. His hairline receded, all of it falling to the ground, and his ears became long and pointed, and could move around freely, like cow's ears. There was not one patch of human skin left remaining on his body; all was covered by dragon scales. The only thing left undisturbed was his eyes, but even they didn't last long. His eyes began to burn, and he sobbed, "No, not my eyes, just let me keep my eyes!!!" He opened them again, and they were indeed vertically slit. It was over. It was finally over. He looked down at his hands, and they were covered in scales. "D-dragon…" Tears began to well up in his new eyes. He collapsed on the ground, crying, with his mom and sister trying to make heads or tails of what just happened to poor Johnny, but all they could do was comfort him as he cried, helplessly, heartbroken.

During the following months, Johnny faced the challenge of adapting to his new body. He lost every single one of his friends, and his school rank dropped from 'ultra-cool popular all-around awesome dude' to 'school freak show'. He also gained a very good friend, Mary. If it wasn't for Mary, It would've taken three years for him to smile again instead of three weeks. Mary practically became his girlfriend, helping him cheer up when he was down, and even convincing him not to kill himself in a suicide attempt. His family helped him a lot, too, and if anyone would refer to Johnny as anything that was even hinting at calling him sub-human, his mother would deck them right then and there, and she did, several times. Other, original dragons came out of hiding, all they needed was an example that said, "Humans won't shoot you upon first sight", and Johnny reluctantly became a major draconic rights advocate.

And the lizard? He was never to be found again, but sometimes, when people walk by that very same bush, they hear laughing, as if the lizard was in hysterics at his own handiwork.

Why wouldn't he?

THE END

My biggest furry pet peeve is a transformation where Bob happily TFs into whateveranthroanimal, says "wow, that's cool!" and resumes living his normal life like nothing had happened. It's like the character is always a furry who wants the change.

What I see here is some average guy turning into something he hates. Not only does he have to deal with the TF, he also has to change the way he thinks to deal with it.

Also, I was wondering, how would a dragon suicide? I dunno, it just seemed... harder.

OMG. I agree with you all the way, I'm SICK of seeing people who want to be TFd get TFd, cuz then there's next to no conflict envolved, and it's just dumb.

and a draconic suicide? .45 at point blank would work. I also hate how people think guns are novelties. THEY KILL THINGS. they were MEANT to do that. That's how they were made, and I hate those stories when I see some dragon(or anything else, for the matter) like, get shot at by a .50 caliber heavy machine gun and be all like, "MUAHAHA I AM ENDERSTRUCTABEL PH33R M3H LOLOLOLOL" and stuff like that. I mean, even industrial carbon-fiber(the closest thing you'll ever get to a diamond that you can shoot) can't stand up to a thirty caliber.

dude dragons have almost bullet proof scales everywhere even at the head. I do know people who would like to be a dragon in real life including myself but if you think about it realistically everyone would either try to kill you, or capture you and make you a B.O.W. Yes i would like to be a dragon but if i got transformed into a dragon it has to be in a dream. But you can never really pinpoint how tough a dragon scale is so it could be like leather or steel who knows? And few people make books about dragons.

and the main character in this story? This was actually a farce of the cliche "Dragun-h8er" that you see in so many tards' stories as their antagonist.

At first glance this story seemed a little half-baked, but once it dawned on me that he was not supposed to be a believable "dragon hater" it all made perfect sense.

"realistically everyone would either try to kill you, or capture you and make you a B.O.W."

and your source on this? sorry, I read this and lost it. you do realize that the whole "Humans would have a KKK or Illuminati against dragons" is bullshit? most humans love dragons. find me one person who would want to kill a dragon the instant he saw it. the only people who would say yes are sociopaths that are probably not limited to wanting to kill and torture small animals, big animals, black people, white people, Latinos, Slavs, etc, AS WELL and thus cannot be thought of as the majority of humankind. hint hint- they're called racists, and they really aren't that many of them.

and the government would develop a secret organization to keep them secret/kill them all? ha ha ha. the government can't even manage their own post office. and PETA would be all up their ass. and the government has bigger things to worry about.

REALISTICALLY, humans would be confused and scared at worst. a few would act rashly. you infer that they ALL would. see, what's funny is that humans are indeed capable of logic due to our brains evolving a third processing system- logic. Monkeys have more chance of unifying against dragons than humans do.

would humans do mean things against dragons? well, do humans do mean things against humans? of course. It's not like your average human will be sitting and watching the news and suddenly they see "Dragons are real" and automatically go all ape-shit and grab a bunch of buddies, get pitchforks, shotguns and torches and lynch the closest dragon. WHY THE FUCK WOULD THEY? you have no logic behind your argument. It seems like you are just rehashing what farm-Fresh came up with in 2009, and every scaly who had a beef against humans, figured "Hey, I'll write about that too!" nice try being original.

Until you can explain to me just how "Realistically" all humans would go on a sudden crusade against dragonkind, you really come off as a what, thirteen, fourteen year old furtard with stunted critical assessment abilities? learn to think slowly and critically for yourself, come up with your own goddamn conclusion instead of eating other's words with very little thought.

P.S. a bullet-resistant, bio-organically synthesized skin material is next to impossible. few creatures could ever get the necessary nutrients during it's development to evolve such a material. Humankind, in this society with such an overabundance of food hypothetically could, but seeing as the modern age was such a small part of our evolutionary process, it's impossible.

There, i'm done.

YES! FINALLY! I found someone else! No more boring and random TF with no point or purpose! I'm about to cry of joy!

Thank god! It's not that I hate the I R UNDESCTRUCLEABEL thing, it's just it seems to me a poor excuse to avoid getting involved in making the story a bit more realistic.

For the suicide, some would say 1) dragons don't suicide, 2) dragons are too kewl to suicide, so they don't 3) the dragon can beat all teh pyuny Terminators without even breaking a sweat 4) dragons have supertough scales that are bullet-proof, missile-proof, fire-proof, magic-proof, basically everything-proof.
Those, I despise.
As for superfast healing, well it's tougher than a normal human but it's not invulnerable, so it's okay.

The way I do it is that the TF induces an almost complete reboot of the system. That way, if say a person has his hand broken, when it'll turn into a paw it'll be fixed. But if the person has something wrong that isn't affected by the TF, he's still stuck with it (ex; allergies, scars, asthma)

Well, I'll go and read your stories to see what you write about it!

this girl gets her leg broken, then a crazy dragon bites her, and she gets "infected", so to speak, and turns into one of them, with her leg healed.

No, i guess it's just that great minds think alike

In fact, the TF heal concept is not said out loud in my story series, it's just hinted at.

well, that and it makes sense, I mean, if your whole body goes through a total reconstruction, don't you think that a broken limb will fix itself?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BCRE8TVE In reply to IHASNIP3RIFLE [2010-03-28 04:16:51 +0000 UTC]

If your whole body goes into total reconstruction, you'd die. Essentially, all your organs would stop working for a period of time. Critical system failure. However, you can live up to a week if your kidneys are defective, your brain can survive up to 4 minutes of oxygen starving, you can survive a couple of weeks if your digestive system stops (aka you're not eating) Essentially, you can survive one part of your body resetting at a time, maybe two if you're lucky. However, all the systems at once = dead. My shortest TF takes 3 days to fully complete, at least for all the visible changes to be finished.

well, the dying part sorta ruins the fun, and what I usually did, was the person's nerves shut down, but at the same time, some sort of "mysterious technology" (when there is no logical way to explain... just use the whole "Mysterious Tech" thing) keeps their heart operating, and this one was a "concious TF" (usually, I make them faint, but I decided against it for this one), and a "local area" Tf, so its, in essence, a wave across his body of a TF, so not everything is affected at once.

BCRE8TVE In reply to IHASNIP3RIFLE [2010-03-28 17:09:42 +0000 UTC]

My problem is I love science. I've been accepted in a biochemistry program in university, and I want to do reaserch on DNA. 'Mysterious technology' is unappealing to me. It's better than "It's magic, don't ask", but barely. If there is some info/background on said technology, that I'm okay with.

I want to try to explain it with DNA. I'm reading 12th grade biology schoolbook just to learn more about DNA and stuff. That way, I can spout out a lot of scientific mumbo-jumbo that noone understands, so they all think I'm right

lol, I use the same technique, saying crap to make myself look smart, but that's just out of habit

but my Intro to Guns thing was 99.9% accurate, after all, I actually KNOW everything to be learned about ballistcs and trajectories, if I do say so myself

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BCRE8TVE In reply to IHASNIP3RIFLE [2010-03-29 18:27:12 +0000 UTC]

I don't usually say much, so when I say crap it's not to make me look smart, it's because I know I'm smart.

I'll have to read about Intor to Guns then! If you want ballistic impossibilities, you should read some Games Workshop stories! Take the Bolter for example. Supposedly some sort of like 40 mm gun firing self-propelled, auto igniting grenades with density sensors (meaning they explode with the strength of a hand genade only once they're INSIDE you). And that's one of the less far-fetched guns they have.
