As the sun raised on him one more time and one more day started, Simon remembered his home herd that he had left two years ago now. It had been a bit of a rough goodbye, but the young stallion was excited and ready to take on the whole world at the time.
Now, after some time going back and forth and more rejections that his hooves could ever count, he felt like he had come a long way. And his confidence had not budged a bit.
How could it?
Looking around at the wide desert in front of him, a gush of morning breeze ruffled his messy mane, and he lifted his head, eyes closed, really embracing that feeling of freedom. With such a wide world at the end of his hoof, he had no doubt there had to be a place for him and he was determined to find it.
But first things first, he had to find a good breakfast, so he started the march taking adventage of the cool air of the morning, trotting south to find, hopefully, Carson Lake in just a few hours. There he would find some water and some tasty grass before starting his day.
