The Peanut Treatment

-----
It was couple of days after they got the halter on Pirate and they’d been working with him to self halter, which had been turning out pretty well, so they decided it was time to bathe him and loosely tied the lead onto the fence post so if Pirate spooked he’d be able to run off, he couldn’t go far the most he could go was out in the 3 acre land behind them where all the other horses were hanging out. Marcus had remembered the hairstyles he looked at on his phone the morning before he had went to help Milo lead Pirate and decided it to be a good idea to go full on with it.
Marcus called this type of bathing “The Peanut Treatment,” as it was how he groomed and took care of Peanut, his Vasteuro. Marcus had gotten out Peanut’s fancy tool bag and grabbed out cotton candy scented shampoo, floral scented deep clean conditioner, a pair of grooming scissors with a gem engraved into the center of it. He also grabbed out his horse perfume that also contained a lovely floral scent, he got out some newly bought brushes for Pirate, Peanut didn’t like sharing brushes, and of course, the body soap (everything is horse safe of course.)
They brought out the hose and washed Pirate down, he was scared at first, the water was cold, but Milo was especially good at keeping him calm throughout the entire process, Marcus proceeded to bathe him, in which Pirate started to enjoy being pampered, he was frightened of the cold water at first but Milo was keeping him calm and whatever Marcus was doing was keeping the flies away and cooling him down, Pirate didn’t see any negatives.
Afterwards while his hair and fur was still a bit damp, Marcus began to braid his mane and tail and tied it all together with gold sparkly rubber bands and he went over to the open field to pick some flowers and weave them into his hair. All that was left was the hooves but Marcus couldn’t take care of that on his own, they had to call the farrier.
Afterwards when Pirate was all dry, it was safe to say he smelled lovely, flies weren’t bothering him, he felt a lot nicer without all the tangles in his fur and hair and it was no longer tugging on his skin, and he felt nice, his fur was about as soft as a cloud and his hair was as smooth as an angel’s. It was a good day for him.
