It's summertime! 🏖

And boy oh boy, did it feel like this year's heat hit with a vengence. At least, not at first. I remember being at work and the heat wasn't all that terrible. Thing is, that was in the middle of a time without rain, we had like two weeks without rain so the air was dry and manageable. Then it rained, and the humidity struck. It's been raining at least once a day for the past two or three weeks now, and the accompanying humidity has made things feel so unbearable... It's crazy that it's been worse in other places of the country right now in terms of heat. Keep yourselves safe and hydrated, everyone.

As you can probably tell, summer is not my favorite season of the year, mostly because of the brutal heat that can come about. However, this time around I wanted to get a seasonal picture done, which I don't think I've really ever done! I actually had started this drawing back last month (can't remember exactly when though), but decided to hold off on it for a bit while I worked on a Pride picture, which you can see here:

This was probably one of the harder drawings I've done, mostly because of the leg positions. I did one sketch for both Doughshi and Cinnamon, so it was kinda lazy, but it was what I had planned from the start. It was mainly the footpaw positions, considering one of them was in a bent shape and the other was in a stuck out position where the underside could be seen. I used quite a few references to figure out the right angles and shapes to use, and it worked out alot better than I was thinking.

Anyway, sometimes the best way to enjoy a hot day is to head down to the beach! A casual stroll on the sand, the waves coming up and washing your footpaws, the breeze keeping things cool. You can't ask for anything else! This was honestly the perfect excuse to not only draw Cinnamon again, and in her summer wear once more, but to also add onto Doughshi's, which it only felt appropriate to add in the Shine Sprite shirt you can get in Super Mario Sunshine. However, while making this, I had to ask myself... Why hasn't this shirt, unless I'm missing something, never been sold by Nintendo? It seemed like the perfect thing to sell during Mario's 35th anniversary? I would've bought this up immediately!!
