Description This is the Lethe, a knife I designed for my good friend the Mad Hatter. Actually, it was a knife for his character, Memory. The name was his idea, and refers to a mythical Greek river similar to the river Styx that has some relation to memories apparently. Anyway, I imagined everything but the blade and that knob on the bottom to be black, with the actual handle being a lighter shade of black, hence the, well, lighter shading. The rings that serve as the crossguard were for putting your index and middle fingers through for holding it with the blade forward if desired, since this allows for better force and grip. It can still be held like normal knife of course. The notches in the blade were for looks and to apply the fishhook concept (more damage is done when the blade is pulled out). And to make it lighter of course. The point on the bottom of the hilt was for dealing impact damage, in case Memory just wants to knock out his opponent or his attempt to stab failed. The little symbol next to the name there was something Hatter thought up once out of boredom a few months ago, with a few modifications of my own of course. I decided it would be Memory's official symbol. The real reason I stuck it there was to make the picture and the name look more centered! XD

I forgot to mention that this was one of the things I drew in my sketchbook long before it was stolen. I had drawn it on a much smaller scale though, so I'm surprised I was able to redraw it so large and still keep it looking straight. The reason I did that though was because those notches are surprisingly hard to draw in a small scale! Even then, I think I did them a little wrong, since I don't have the original picture to go off of! I believe the original design had the notches just slightly wider and also at an even sharper angle, causing them to be slightly longer as well since I had wanted them to stop at the halfway point between the edge and the middle line. It took me perhaps an hour or two to do this. One for the blade and hilt, the other for the name, symbol, and some extra shading.
