The Discworld series focuses on philosophy and comedy, with the comedy becoming less prominent and more mature in more recent books. It's great, I read 'Unseen Academicals' - which, in my opinion, isn't even in my top ten discworld books right now - at first, straight after finishing yet another run-through of the Twilight saga, and then after reading Unseen Academicals I took one look at my collection of Meyer books and left them to gather dust as I began collecting discworld books. They pretty much matured me, with their realistic/entertaining human reactions and fantasy backgrounds. If I have to reccommend a book to start on, then I'd say 'Guards! Guards!' is the best choice because that goes into the Watch story arc, but the 'Witches' arc, starting with 'Equal Rites', is also brilliant.

Its a comedy-fanasty series, if you ever get into it. The good part is, you don't have to read the books in chronological order by publication date to understand the series, since there are several main characters with their own personal arcs seperate from the other main charaacters. Bad news is, these arcs are chronological, so to understand each arc you have to start with the first book related to each main character.

Discworld is pretty amazing. I have ALL OF THE GODDAMN BOOKS. Now to get round to reading them all, I'm about halfway through.
Love the Watch and Witches arcs

yeah, that's why my dad not letting me. School is fun except the noise... can't take it anymore, it gives me headache so I can't answer quizzes or activities. I took exams already for the 1st month, too easy. LOL
