This is my entry for the photomanipulation tutorial contest held by CRPhotomanipulation
Photomanip Tutorials Contest. 1 week left!Hello everyone!
CRPhotomanipulation is happy to announce our official photomanip tutorial contest!
The idea.
All artist have their strengths, something they really good at doing. One is a master of composition building, another one is a genius of light and shadows, third one knows all about colors and their combination. Advanced artists certainly have own recognizable style, penmanship, secrets, finds, maybe even a know-how, which exactly they came up with. If you are ready to share these knowledges with others, this contest for you!
What we are looking for:
You'll see my mistakes, my struggles, my trying to find the perfect stock images.
Also - very important - a certain part of the tutorial did not record properly - so I had to go back a redo what didn't record. If you see the model with the arcane symbols already around her head where I re-did some parts, don't worry, near the end you'll see how I did it.
Making this tutorial was fun. My rendering crashed 5 times. I almost thought I won't be able to do it. But here it is.
It's long, I know - and I really hope that from this loooooooong tutorial, you'll be able to learn something.

So far I am 1 hour and 36 minutes into your tutorial. Stayed up waaaay later than I should have because I was wrapped up in it. Like 2:30am time. Honest, I have learned so much. For one, I noticed that how you cut out models and objects from images is a heck of a lot more efficient than how I do it (pen tool.) I will be using this now. Also, the way you do base shadows and lighting using levels or curves. I always painted it all in an had such a difficult time and sometimes it would look wonky! Your way will make it so much easier for me. Also, using feather in the different ways you do. I never thought to do that. I love how smooth it made the model. I always tirelessly painted along the edges of the cutout stock to get rid of the pixelization. I cannot wait to see what else I learn from the rest of the tutorial. Thank you!
