Page 35: Falki cannot comprehend what his father is saying, and states that the only way he can protect anyone is by training. However, his father asks him what he would do if he fails to protect someone. Falki says that it means he didn't train hard enough, but his father goes on to say that, if he truly loves someone, then he would protect them, even if he physically can't. These words mystify young Falki, as they are rather vague and paradoxical.
