Why is it so funny to you? It wasn't intended to be funny. Nor should people be trying to bring down this artist by stating that it is.
What if I went through an artist's gallery and said "OMG YOU'RE SO FUNNY HAHAHAHA" simply because they have an OC that was self inserted, or if they used a base from a popular series? For example, their OC was based upon Creepypasta, FNAF, and popular fanbases.
Is it right for me to tell them that their art makes me laugh because their OC is in that fandom, or that they used a base from that fandom? No. It's not.Β
If I went into your gallery right now and said that your writing was funny because it was set in a POV rather than third person, I bet you would be OFFENDED. That's how this artist feels. This is their individual OC, and they put a lot of work into creating it and put a part of themselves into this piece, even if the quality isn't very good to some people's standards. Just like you put work and yourself into your writing pieces.Β

It'd be completely different if it was CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Yet all I'm seeing are RUDE and offensive critiques on their work and it's not fair. It's pretty damn obvious they're a beginner, and on top of that, these people aren't even being polite enough to ask if this person even WANTS a critique in the first place.Β
People need to learn to shut their damn mouths and only critique when the artist specifically asks, OR if they ask the artist AND the artists agrees to allow them to critique them. Otherwise, it's very rude.

Yes, but there is a difference between telling this artist and screaming at them-- All I've seen in the comments were people screaming at this artists. No one has taken a gentle approach.
Is it SO difficult to note this person and kindly tell them that they're breaking the rules? For fucks sake, I've ALWAYS noted people that I've noticed were breaking rules with a kind demeanor. And guess what?

This person here needs a gentle approach- if someone yells at them, calls them names, and says "LOL REPORTED", that's not inspiring them to take down the post. Rather, it's demeaning them and is intolerant. Despite what MANY users on DeviantART think.. there are people that aren't omniscient. Not everyone has read all of the rules, and not everyone is as experienced as all the users.
This may be this user's first time ever on DeviantART. And instead of being met with kind people that are trying to make this a better place for them, they are met with horribly rude and outright fucking horrible individuals that think it's cute to demean someone as a person, simply because they've merely broken a rule that they had no knowledge about.Β
It's sickening. I hate this generation of artists, I really do. It makes me want to vomit- because honestly, how hard is it to be kind to them and inform them nicely of breaking a rule? What is the need of cursing them out and demeaning them? That doesn't inspire change- all it inspires is hate and may lead someone to depression and quitting digital art all together.
