I remember that when I made this little "pony pantheon" thing using show characters as if they were divinities, I divided music up three ways.
Vinyl is music that's background or a backdrop, something you listen to while doing something else. Say, the music at a club or a party.
Octavia is performance music, where the music is the whole point or most of the point. Say, concerts.
And the third one was Lyra, who I made sort of like a bard. Music which is participatory - everyone joins in. I would have given that one to Pinkie, but she already had other things.
So, there's a good reason they're confused... (at least, the way I divide it up.)

Of course, when Cadence turned up that messed things up a little - so I made her particular area of music "music which is listened to for the memories it brings". I think it works for her.

Nicely thought out! I especially like Luna; presenting her as the 'other' side of Celestia's order really gives her her own traits.

Yeah. When I was first making the list, it was pre-Canterlot Wedding, so I tried for two Greater Deities each in good and evil. To that end, I split Luna and Nightmare Moon, made them opposite ends of the alignment chart, and then had Celestia/Discord be the other opposed pair.
Plus it makes sense in terms of Luna doing what she did on Nightmare Night...
