Description
A marvel of over-engineering, this weapon was made by a civilization to which the development of firearms had to skip a few steps and people were convinced that casings were a waste of time, money, space and a good way to bung up barrels due to a particularly crappy first attempt. Instead of developing cartridges they decided that it was better to make a gun that carried a hopper full of balls which were fed by gravity and some internal mechanisms behind a pile of gunpowder sucked out of a flask and into a chamber with a specific capacity which then injected it into the back of the gun before closing up using an electric spark (proven technology, works great in mining) to set off the charge. The result was a gun that could maintain a rate of fire of thirty rounds per minute and carried some sixty shots, but was also heavy, expensive, cumbersome and occasionally blew up.
