Description As a general and longstanding rule, Coldlanders avoid fighting during the winter months. Temperatures which linger between -10 and -30 Degrees and windchill could inflict casualties upon an army foolish to match in winter just as much as arrows, snowdrifts can bog down horses and men, wildspawn become more aggressive, attempting a siege is an exercise in futility and frostbite and warriors liked having a few months of respite from constant vigilance. For the most part, only the desperate and the daring bordering on suicidally fierce would attack during the dead of winter. The Central Committee mostly kept with this policy and rarely went on expeditions during winter. Even so, they did keep up some patrols for security and on occasion did fight winter campaigns. This is a typical infrastructural army winter uniform.

The torso is covered in a greatcoat made mainly of felted cloth and is worn over the standard duty uniform. Like the standard infantry tunic, it has pockets and rank insignia. Some are dyed green while others are dyed a greyish white. The standard boots have a leather shoe component over a felt lining, thus keeping water and the chill out. Heavier leather boots are issued to cavalrymen. While it is not visible, long underwear is also issued for the legs. Headgear varies, but the two most common variants are a felt lining for the standard infantry helmet or a fur ushanka. For non combat situations, the latter is vastly preferred. Leather gloves are common, as are woolen ones. In combat situations, the standard curiass and helmet are worn.
