Description
A simple map of the continent that the refugee colonists fled to. It is about 4,500 kilometers long. As it's in the southern hemisphere the northern section of the island is the warmest though no place besides the highest mountains gets regular snowfall. Much of the continent is arid or semiarid. The prevailing winds come from the west to the east and as such the east receives the least rainfall while the west has thick rainstorms and often has to endure hurricanes. In the non arid grasslands weather can be erratic. This has meant that agriculture in this continent can be quite productive but needs extensive irrigation and preparations need to be made against the prospects of dry spells. This is especially the case in the east. The native fauna of this island includes marsupials, giant reptiles, parrots, large eagles and similar creatures.

As of the 4th century after landfall much of the Refugee population remains in the northern coastal areas. Expansion to the south has only begun to happen in earnest. There has been some expansion inland, most notably in the emerald lake area and along the haven rivers, but for the most part inland settlements are comparatively small.
