Description

Virga is an odd world in more ways than one, A balloon over 8,000 km in diameter orbiting a star on a distant orbit. It was built millennia ago by a fleet of automated constructor ships, which also built within it Candesce, the primary cluster of artificial fusion suns it's center (which can also produce secondary suns) to warm it's interior. Within the confines of Virga's skin is a Sea of Sky, a breathable atmosphere in which bodies of water, rocks, dirt and various forms of life exist where there is no up or down or gravity save for what you can make for yourself with centripetal force. Into it's skies were seeded a wide variety of organisms which thrive in this enviroment, among the most common of these are various forms of Freefall Fish.

Based off Terran Genomes from numerous lineages (including rays, sharks and various types of bony fish,this one had in it's ancient heritage mackerel), these Fish have been adjusted to their new airborne habitat. They have lungs and many species have a thin coat of feathers in place of scales. Similarly their pectoral and pelvic fins have been been adjusted to serve as Wings. Schools of these fish flutter through the skies of Virga around clouds, forests of trees and rocks in search of prey and to avoid the various predators of their ecosystem. They also need to worry about Human Anglers with lines, harpoons and nets, though instead of boats Virgan fishermen ride various vehicles powered by fans and jet engines to collect their catch, or set nets down from their centrifugal towns.
