Description
"I want to see Henry..." She said, sitting next to her sister on the bed. Today was an ok day for Jules. She wasn't as bad as the night before, she remembered her family and Henry. "Please sis, where is he...? Why did he leave me...?" Tears were welling in her eyes. Her sister hugged her."He didn't Jules... He loves you, trust me. Look, tell you what, if you start to feel a little better soon we can go and visit him next month?" She smiled at her sisters reaction.
"Ok! Oh I can't wait! I want to see how Mayhem is, and go to the pub and of course hug my amazing husband." Julie smiled.
Her sister gave her a sad smile back. "Yeah sis, it'll be great. Maybe he's written some stuff since we last saw him! I know how much you love reading his stories and everything."
Julie smiled.
"So, show me this painting you've done then! First time in a while."
It was true, Julie had painted a lot, she had sketches up on her walls, paintings framed and hung. But since the illness had started her paintings and drawings started to dwindle and... Deteriorate.
"Oh wow, its beautiful Jules..." Her sister said, looking down at the canvas. There was a faint outline of what was supposedly how Jules remembered Henry, and then inside his faciel features were off, paint splattered and smudged and painted over multiple times, as if showing all the things Julie couldn't quite remember about her husband. Over time, his face had gotten more and more like this, deteriorating like her memories of the man she loved. The paint splattering across the page made her sister sad. Julie had never done abstract paintings or overly artistic stuff, it was always realistic. And to see her go from that to this? It was... Difficult. To say the least.
