Description Xephos sighed, resting his head back on the warm floor for a second, before standing and dusting himself off.
"You alright?" Lysander asked, sheafing his sword on his belt.
The spaceman nodded, pulling out three Bandana's and wrapping one round the lower half of his mouth before handing the other two to the others.
"Is this necessary friend?" Honeydew asked, doing as the spaceman had.
"Yes. This part of the nether isn't nice. Israphel had me mix something with the lava. The smoke is horrible and will burn your lungs and throat. This is for the best." Xephos answered, not looking to either of them as he adjusted his make shift gasmask.
"Why do you even have bandanas?" The dwarf asked, his voice showing his confusion.
"I've had to go into gas chambers... Clear the bodies... After a while of having coughs and throat infections I decided to make something to help." The spaceman answered casually, still not looking at the other two as he spoke of the things that had happened in the past.
"Which when then?" Lysander asked, turning and looking around. It was a small chamber, enclosed from the world. However, nearby they heard a whimper of a ghast.
The former skylord walked over to the wall opposite the nether portal, putting his hand to it and then raising his sword hilt, bashing it through the wall.
The red walls crumbled and gave way to a massive expanse of lava below. He looked down, moving to one side as the spaceman walked over. While he knew Xephos was ready to correct his ways, he was still not completely trusting of the alien.
"Israphel knocked out the bridge that used to be here..." The spaceman murmured. He then looked to each side. "Unless..." He stuck half his body out of the hole, one of his legs dangling over the high drop to death. The other two looked to each other then back to him, as he swirved himself round, one foot still inside the small chamber, until he was facing the outside wall. Then went over, looking out at him. He had his other foot placed on another outcropping in the netherwrack.
"Friend be careful..." Honeydew said, looking down worriedly. For a second, the spaceman glanced down, his confidence seeming to leave him. In his head, his other self had gotten a slight scare. He shook his head, looking back up and letting go of the wall with his hands, depending completely on the balance of his legs. He was unwavering, for the time being.
Still, the dwarf looked on, scared for his friend and feeling vertigo himself just looking at him. He brought a thumb to his mouth and began subconsciously biting the tip of his glove.
The spaceman still didn't worry, his pulled off his black fingerless gloves and placed them in his pocket, before stretching his fingers and then, quickly shoving a hand into the wall.
The other two stood back a bit as the wall cracked, he punched it again, knocking through more, and finding an old leaver. He gripped onto it as the wall continued to crumble. Just as he was about to pull it, the rock beneath his left foot crumbled beneathe him, he fell, dangling there because of his grip on the lever.
The other two gasped, Honeydew stepped forward. "Xeph?! Are you ok?" He asked, that being all he could do. He couldn't reach his friend.
Xephos looked down once again at the bubbling lava and the massive drop. His other self kicked in "oh god oh god..." He whispered to himself, before closing his eyes for a couple of second and groaning as he forced his other hand up, grabbing the lever with both hands. The wall continued to crumble, even more now that more of his weight was dragging it forward.
He tried to bring one leg up to the wall again but it was too late, the wall crumbled down and fell in large chunks, taking the spaceman with it.
The other two gasped, watching as the spaceman managed to clamber onto the biggest slab of neverwrack. He looked up at them, his doom quickly coming closer as he fell towards the lava. He leapt, landing on another piece and using the propulsion to bounce to the next piece, and again and again until he finally managed to bounce off and jump towards the opening, he just managed to grip onto the edge with one hand, almost slipping as he did so. Honeydew and Lysander quickly knelt down, helping him up. He sat there for a moment, his legs dangling off the end. He breathed heavily, reverted to his other self as he stared down at the lava. "Bloody hell..." He breathed, running his fingers through his hair and then wincing, upon lifting his hand he saw the red scraped and cuts across his palm and fingers, from where he had gripped onto the lever so much and where he had just scraped it on the edge.
Sighing, he got into a kneeling position, one leg down on the floor and the other propped up. He looked over the edge at the lava, to see a slow rising bridge made of purple bricks coming up to help them across. He smirked and stood up, looking at the other two in turn.
"You are WAY too reckless for your own good..." Honeydew said, hugging his friend. Xephos gave a small smile and patted his friend back.
"I believe only one side of me enjoys hugs." He smiled and then pulled off his jacket, placing it to one side and kneeling next to it, pulling some bandages from the satchel on his leg. He wrapped the bandages round his hand tightly, but so that he could still move it, and then went into one of his jacket pockets and pulled his gloves back out, placing them on.
Then, he went into another pocket. The other two continued to watch him curiously, looking down at the bridge every so often to see where abouts it was on its slow journey up to them. The silent spaceman pulled out a small blue/purple pouch. An enderpouch. He then lifted his jacket placing it inside.
"Too warm here." He stated, before wrapping the bag strings round his belt. He then tapped it and it turned black. "Blacklisted. Only I can get into it. And people who I give permission." He stated.
"Bag of holding." Honeydew nodded, impressed. "Nice."
Xephos gave a small side smile and then walked closer to the edge. He looked at the bridge that was almost at their level. "We can't risk Israphel or his minions catching up with us. We need to keep moving. As fast as we can." The last sentence was impatient, almost angry, as the spaceman kicked down a chunk of rubble at the bridge, as if it would make it go faster. He turned and began pacing.
The dwarf watched him. He looked like his old self more. His face was lighter to look at, his blue eyes kinder. More relaxed. The dwarf smiled and the spaceman noticed this.
"What...?" He asked.
"Nothing Xeph. Just glad to have you back." Honeydew stated, before turning. "Ah. Rides here." He said, looking at the bridge as it came to a halt at their level.
"You take the lead?" Lysander said, putting out an arm for Xephos to go first.
The spaceman nodded to the skylord, walking up to the bridge and placing a foot onto it. He waiting, slowly adding more weight to see if the bridge was trapped. It wasn't. It didn't crumble like the wall had. It was made of netherbrick, so it should hold. He placed his other foot on top, and after looking out at the expanse that the bridge crossed, he began his purposeful stride across. The others followed as the spaceman lead, sword in hand, across the bridge. They caught up, struggling to as the spaceman had longer strides.
"So, where do we go now...?" Honeydew asked.
"I'm not too sure. But we need to get away from here. And this is the only bridge." Xephos answered, honestly. The dwarf nodded. "I know where some people are kept. We could help them... I'm sure the news of our betrayel won't spread that quickly... We can build up our forces... Maybe... Ask if they know where some of their people are... I know quite a few people escaped." He said, staring forward the entire time. "Because of me..." He added, and quickened his pace. The dwarf gave a sad look and the rest of the journey across the bridge was silent.
------------
After making it across, the spaceman looked around, hearing the ghast again. He put a finger to his mouth, signaling the others to be quiet.
He turned, seeing the white beast creeping up behind them. It moaned, shooting a fireball. He raises his sword, the fireball hitting it and pushing him back into the other two. He kept his feet stable on the floor, and then pushed his sword, flicking it and sending the fireball across into the lava. He then ran forward, fast, knocking all the fireballs back at the ghast, they exploded in its face, and suddenly the spaceman leapt into the air, his jumps being incredibly high, and sliced his sword in a diagonal across the ghast, which let out a loud moan.
He landed on one knee, swiping his sword through the air. And in front of him, dropped a single ghast tear. The other two blinked at him.
"We could have helped..." The dwarf said, smirking a little. The spaceman laughed, standing up straight and picking up the ghast tear crystal in between his thumb and forefinger. He placed it into his bag, and then turned to the other two.
"I have a lot of experience with this stuff." The spaceman smiled, looking at the other two.
"Glad you had fun friend." Honeydew said, patting a hand on the spaceman's arm, and then turning and walking back over to the skylord. The spaceman smoked to himself. "So, where now?" The dwarf asked.
