"So... Second level." Ridge stated, folding his arms and turning to the others. "And if we needed to go back up for some reason, we can.""Can we just get this over with? I want to go home." Rythian mumbled back.
"We all want to not be in this situation." Lalna stated, looking around the room as the spaceman and fox girl joined them. The aliens eyes glowing and illuminating everything. "But we're stuck here until we find the device. Evil Ridge-"
"As apposed to...?" Exza asked, getting a glare from the reaper.
"Fine. The other Ridge." Lalna mumbled. "Is the one making this difficult. I had a system after last time, to check whether or not the universes are hostile or good. This one didn't appear dangerous..." He sighed and looked at the sign that was next to the stairs. "Xeph, look this way a little?"
The spaceman complied, looking to the sign. "'Not all doors in the dungeon are visible at first sight. If you are stuck, search for hidden doors'." He read. "So what we check the walls for hidden doors?" He looked around at everyone.
"I guess so, wait what was your ring for Xeph?" Exza asked. He checked.
"Detection." He looked up. "So...?"
"So that means you'll probably be more likely to find the doors. Might help with me being a rogue as well... You guys wanna split up into little groups and see where we end up?" She asked, looking around.
"Well there's only one door so far." Sips said, pointing his thumb towards the door that was on the left of the stairs on the corner.
"Let's check it out." Sjin added, though letting the others go first.
"Little scared Sjinny?" Exza asked as she walked at the back with him.
"Only a tad..." He answered.
"We got a fox!" Ridge called from the front. "An actual fox."
At this point Exza rushed to the front to see a small red fox brushing against the reapers legs. "Hey you found me!" She smirked and folded her arms. "Don't understand her attachment to you though." Raising an eyebrow she knelt down and stroked the fox behind the ear. "Well, she seems to want you to look after her." The fox girl stood, looking to Ridge. He wasn't smirking at the moment.
"Why me?!" He asked.
"Because she likes you." The dwarf chuckled.
"Fine..." The reaper answered, sighing and looking down to the fox who was looking up at him with big blue eyes. He knelt down and let it crawl up his arm to his shoulder. "Happy?" He asked the others, an unimpressed look plastered over his face.
"Very." Exza smirked. "Now what are these gravestones?" She looked around, the room had grassy patches on the floor, and held two gravestones. She tapped one and it disintegrated, and in its place stood a black spirit. "Ah... Hello...?" She asked, looking at it. It blinked at her, before putting its hand into her stomach. She gasped for air, the black fist going straight through her. She felt as if she were in a vacuum, and Ridge quickly pulled her away. She coughed and attempted to regain the air she had lost.
"What is it Ridge?" Rythian asked, joining the reaper and stepping in front of her.
"Dead meat..." Exza answered, gritting her teeth together and lunging at the spirit with her dagger. It passed through, taking a tiny amount from its health bar. But it didn't seem interested, in fact it was completely ignoring the girl, and appeared to have spotted the spaceman stood not far away with the dwarf. It began to float slowly but menacingly towards him, and he looked around at everyone, starting to worry.
"Uh! Guys!" He said, stepping back. "Little help might be nice!"
"On it!" Rythian answered, shooting the fire at it. It passed through but still did a little damage.
"Why does this thing want me?!" The spaceman yelled, backing into a wall and realising that he wouldn't be able to get away from this spirit.
"Its the mark on your arm spaceballs!" Exza called over, rushing at the spirit and slicing through it. It let out a shriek and knocked her back, into the other gravestone. Another spirit appeared. "Ah shit."
"Move!" Lalna shouted as he yanked the fox girl away from getting another ghostly thing pass through her. "That was close..."
"They're still going for Xephos..." Honeydew stated, pulling out his weapon and rushing in front of the spaceman. Suddenly the fox girl appeared to have an idea.
"Guys! Shield wall!" She yelled. Everyone looked to her. She rolled her eyes and ran next to the dwarf, raising both hands like him in a fighting stance. The others caught on and remembered Exza's viking training, and made a ring around the spaceman, so that he was against the wall and couldn't be got if they kept the spirits at bay.
They did well, the scientist knocked one spirit to the left, the mage then set it on fire and the dwarf finished it off with a slash of his weapon. Sjin on the other side kicked through the other spirit, knocking it to Sips who stabbed an arrow straight through its head. The reaper had then uppercut it and the fox girl made sure to defend everyone.
At this point Xephos was tired of being defended, and cut through the circle in between Exza and Ridgedog, and sliced his dagger through the spirit, depleting the rest of it's health bar. He turned and looked at the others, thanking them, before looking down to his arm, the mark was fading and within a few more seconds, had gone altogether.
"Loot!" The fox girl called casually across the room and the rest turned round to see that she had looted all that was left of the tombs. A sword and some more food.
"I'm not sure I wanna eat this food..." Sips stated, looking at what the fox girl had handed them.
"Only for when you're hungry again, don't worry I've read about all this. All food other than raw monster meat is safe to eat." Exza said, looking around more. "Nice fighting guys. Obviously you lack my actual training but... We could make thralls of you yet." She smirked and held a hand towards the door. "Anyone gonna go first?"
They walked from the room. "Oo!" Sjin called, everyone turned to look at him, where he had walked over some grass, a little bubble sat. "Cool!" He smiled.
"What is it?" Lalna asked. "Is it dangerous?"
"The opposite actually. The bubbles can either fill a health pot which will let us regenerate if we die, or replenish health when you're low. Seen as we don't have a health pot... Honeydew, you seem bummed up, why don't you try?" Exza said, folding her arms.
"Alright." The dwarf answered and stepped, cautiously as though he would shatter it, onto it. It popped and he looked better, some of the cuts had disappeared and he looked healthier. "That's a nice feeling." He smiled, looking around at them. "Anyway, continuing?" He walked from the door and the others followed.
"There's no other door through here friend..." Xephos spoke, looking down at the dwarf.
"Well that's what the sign means I suppose." Rythian said, reminding them all of the sign. "We should try looking for hidden doors."
They began looking around, not really noticing much. But the spaceman looked down to his ring. If anyone would be able to find the doors, it would be him... Or the fox girl because of the rogue class. He looked around, and focused on a specific part of the wall, close to where the last door had been. Something drew him to that part of the wall and he slowly made his way over, touching the part and running his hand along the edges of where he thought a door could go. He gave the centre a slight push with his palm and the door appeared, leaving little glittery bits floating through the air. He took a step back, and looked to the others.
"Good job silk shirt!" Sips smirked and patted him on the back. They made their way in. "Its just a room with no other route again!"
"Ima go back out there and see if I can find another path." Exza said from the back and left the room again.
"I'll go with her." Ridge added. "We don't want her getting herself killed now do we..." He mumbled and walked out.
"What's this thing?" Sjin asked from the corner, he was stood next to a strange well type thing, with warm water inside bubbling away.
"This is a nice room..." Honeydew spoke, the floor was wooden panels and the walls were smooth stone. "I feel like this room is a bit safer than the others though."
"Should we get Exza in to tell us about this...?" Sips asked, looking at the same thing Sjin had been.
"Good idea." Lalna said, turning and popping his head out of the door. "Exza?" He called. The fox girl popped from another door on a different wall. She must have found one.
"Yo." She walked over and came into the room. "Ah, that thing is like... A potion stand in a way. It has the water in it, so you need to add whatever seeds you've got. Three seeds and you make a potion." She smiled. "Anyway, you guys wanna split into like three groups?" She looked around. "That way we can explore quicker."
"Sounds good." Rythian answered.
"OK, so Xeph, Honeydew and Ridge one group, Sips and Sjin another and then me, Lalna and Rythian?" She loomed around.
"Fine by me." Xephos smiled.
"We should go check out this corridor." Ridge said, pointing back to the door.
"Alright." The dwarf answered and followed. The first group left the room, and Sips and Sjin followed quickly behind. Exza turned to the mage.
"You had the seeds right?" She asked. He nodded and pulled out the seeds. "Awesome! We've got 6. That means two potions, so throw them in and we'll see what we get." She smiled and watched the made throw the seeds in. Two bottles of potion spat themselves out and the scientist picked them up.
"A green one and a pink one." He smiled.
"I think those are mine. Scientist." Rythian answered, taking the potions from him. "I am the mage after all."
"Alright guys don't start arguing..." Exza mumbled. "Let's go explore!"
They shrugged and made their way down to the corridor.
