Description They reappeared, falling to the floor.
"Ahhhh!" She groaned, holding onto her shoulder and curling up on herself on the sandy floor. Fire was running over her body.
"Exza?!" The spaceman asked, quickly making his way towards her pained noises, kneeling next to her and pulling the bandages from his eyes, only seeing a faint outline and ruby colour in front of him. "Ridge do something!"
The reaper quickly came over, turning the fox girl onto her back and seeing the crystal shard sticking through her collarbone/shoulder region. The area was surrounded by blood, it had spliced her when they teleported. "Exza just relax and try and lay still... Exza. Stop the fire." The reaper said sternly, attempting to keep her from moving too much by holding her good shoulder down. "Exza you need to stop moving. You'll make it worse." He said, moving his knee up to keep her arm in place and stop her from moving.
The dwarf also made his way over, pulling out some bandages and other medical type supplies. "Is she gonna be OK?" He asked.
"I don't know..." The reaper answered.
The fox girl at this point hadn't opened her eyes, she held them clenched shut from the agony, her shoulder was tensed, and it would be difficult to work on it with her awake like this. "I'll be fine..." She hissed, before her body tried to curl up on itself once again and she let out another pained groan. Another wave of fire ran over her body burning the reapers hand and knee.
"Ridge let me help! Please..." Xephos said, making his way round.
"Xephos. Your eyes? I assume you can't see." The reaper said, trying to put it plainly.
"Ridge just let me help."
The reaper raised his hand over the spaceman's eyes, focusing on his healing power as best he could. "Come on..." He whispered to himself. He felt it working and then took his hand away when it was done. "Better?" He asked, going back to holding the fox girl down.
"A- a little... I can see a little better yeah. OK what do you need?" He asked, kneeling next to the girl, who at this point was looking like she would pass out from shock.
"I need you to push the crystal shard through her shoulder..." The reaper answered.
"What?!" The spaceman asked, looking down at the crystal.
"Xephos at this point the shard is too far through to just pull it out. It would be a massive risk of her dying of blood loss. If we push it all the way through it would be a lot easier. Its already about in the middle anyway." The reaper said sternly. "Now hurry up before we lose her altogether."
The spaceman gulped and apologised to the fox girl before gripping the end of the crystal. He took a second, and then pushed. The girl instantly yelled out in pain, her body attempting to curl up as the reaper held her still. She gritted her teeth together, groaning and turning onto her side slightly. The spaceman hesitated, not wanting to hurt her.
"Xeph you need to continue to push it out." The reaper said, forcefully turning the fox girl back round so that the spaceman could get to the crystal.
"Look at her Ridge!" The spaceman shouted back. "I can't! Can't you just use your healing?"
"I can't heal the flesh until the crystal is out of the wound." The reaper said, looking to the spaceman. "Now either help or stay out of the way."
Xephos paused, before kneeling back down and gripping the crystal again. He looked to the girl who at this point was looking very weak, and then pushed once again, feeling it make its way through the hole that was now in her shoulder. "I'm sorry..." He said, as the girl groaned again, yelling in pain and beginning to cry. "I can't! I just can't..." He said, standing up and stepping out of the way.
"I'll do it..." The dwarf said, kneeling down and grabbing the crystal. "Sorry Exz..." He signed and began pushing it as hard ad he could. She yelled again, but eventually the crystal was almost out.
"Keep your hand over the open side of the wound Honeydew." The reaper said. "And pull it out of the other side."
The dwarf nodded and did as told, feeling the girl wince under her hand as he covered the open wound. And he yanked on the other end of the crystal, successfully dislodging it from her shoulder and threw it to one side.
The spaceman watched the other two work on the wound, the reaper thanked the dwarf and Honeydew moved to one side.
At this point the sand under the girl was ruby, too much blood for her to have lost by this point. She was pale, too pale, and her breathing and squirming had slowed. She passed out.
"Can you pass me some bandages someone?" Ridge asked, he held his hand hard against the wound, keeping the blood in. "I can't cauterise the injury because Exza's the only one with fire..." He added as the dwarf passed him some bandages. "Ok... This bits gonna be hard... I need a needle and thread."
"What for?" The dwarf asked.
"Stitches. We don't have anything else." The reaper answered. "And I need it to be closed more if I'm gonna try and heal it. We could see from Xeph's eyes that my healing doesn't work with everything and I don't think it'll fix a hole in someone."
The spaceman grabbed a needle and some thread from Honeydews pack and brought it over, handing it to the reaper and standing back.
Ridge pulled out some anesthetic and a needle.
"No, wait Ridge, Exza can't have anesthetic... At least not one without sugar included..." Xephos said.
"Shit... Well, sorry fox but this is gonna hurt..." The reaper told the unconscious girl, and pulled out some disinfectant, pouring some onto a cloth and wiping at the wound, cleaning it as best her can. He could feel her move under him, wincing from the stinging. He then pulled up the needle and thread, he put the end of the threat through the eye of the needle and tied it off, before putting it to her arm. "I sorta feel bad for doing this..." He stated. The other two looked to each other, and the reaper stuck the needle through her pale skin, tying up the first part of the wound. He heard her weakly groan in her sleep and tense up. He continued, still holding her down in case she suddenly moves. And eventually the wound was sewn up. "Right... Healing time..." He said, holding his hand out over her shoulder. "Could you get some water sorted please." He asked the dwarf.
"What about me...?" Xephos asked.
"Sugar? I guess. Try and find some." The reaper answered, beginning to try and use his healing power. The wound was slowly healing, and near the end he stopped, taking out some small scissors and carefully cutting the thread off so that he didn't heal it into the arm. He then continued and all that was left was a slight scar across the shoulder/collarbone.
The dwarf came back over with the water and the spaceman had found some sugarcane. The reaper took the sugarcane and ground it up in between a couple of rocks, before adding it to the water. "Should be alright like this..." He stopped holding the girl down and picked her up, taking her over to the small camp the dwarf had made and laid her against a rock, so that she was sat up. He then fed her some of the sugar water and then put it to one side and pulled out the bandages, making a makeshift sling for her arm and putting it on her. They then let her sleep. "She'll be ok..." He said. The other two nodded. "Its gonna be tricky to move with her when the crystal comes along though. We need to be a lot more careful in the future, that crystal shard could have killed one of us and it almost did." He knelt down, picking up the crystal.
"I'm gonna continue making food." Honeydew said and walked over to the fire, continuing to cook.
"Being honest, I was worried back then..." The reaper told the spaceman.
"Thought you didn't like Exza." Xephos answered.
"Its not that I don't like her Xeph. Its that she constantly irritates me, pulls pranks, blows stuff up. And just likes to get on my nerves." Ridge said, he folded his arms. "But I wouldn't want the last things we said to each other to be an argument." He sighed and began walking away. "I'm gonna scout out and see what's around. Keep look for the crystal. Go get some food and some rest."
The spaceman nodded, the sun was beginning to set now. He watched as the reaper pulled out an iron sword and walked off into the desert.
He sighed and walked back over to the camp, sitting down.
------------
"Why is this happening. You're not supposed to kill them!" She whines. "She's my favouriteeeee!" She stands, walking around the dark room. "What am I supposed to do now then? I don't want to get involved. This isn't fair! You're ruining my story time! Bad crystal!" She whacks the tiny crystal figure across the room and folds her arms. "Hmm!" She says, before walking out of the room. "Well at least I'm not bored."
------------
The fire was dying down, but then it suddenly lit back up, almost consuming the frying pan. "Ah!" The dwarf grabbed it, pulling it out before it was consumed.
The fox girl suddenly shot up, breathing heavily as the fire raged even more. She put a hand to her shoulder and breathed a sigh of relief, calming down and sitting back slightly. As she calmed the fire also did.
"How you feeling?" Honeydew asked.
"Like shit..." She answered, before chuckling. "So no different than usual. I'll be fine." She smirked.
The spaceman was stood to one side, his arms folded, listening in. The dwarf and fox girl had a couple of jokes, it was good to see her back to her old self. Exza looked to him and smiled, he nodded slightly but didn't go over, instead he walked away.
Her smile dropped and she turned back to the dwarf. "So what did I miss?" She asked.
"Not much, you want something sugary to eat?" He asked. They didn't tend to get along too well, but there were certain times when they did. Sort of like siblings who argued way too much.
"Sure." She answered, and took the pars bar from him. "Thanks."
"So how long do you think we'll be able to stay here?" The dwarf asked, having a sip of water.
"Well unless the crystal learns that it can teleport instead of wondering around following Ridge, I'd say a few days." The fox girl answered. "So I think we can relax for now..."
"Good cuz Ridge said you needed to rest up and not move around too much tomorrow. So, I'd take his advice if I were you." The dwarf said, smiling.
"Yeah, I'll just go for a couple of little walks and stuff. I hate sitting still." She answered before yawning.
"Well, right now I'd suggest we all get some sleep. Ridge and Xephos should be back soon anyway." The dwarf said, moving back from the fire and grabbing his dried up log that he'd found to sleep on.
"Good idea..." The fox girl answered.
"Night Exza."
"Night Honeydew."
