"Toby!"
Toby was laying against a tree, a book in his hands, when he heard humming.
~Down the door when it began~
He stood and turned
~And I must follow if I can~
He smiled at the familier voice of the man.
~The road goes ever on and on~

A horse and carrage trundled down the road.
~Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the road has gone.~
Toby ran down the hill
~And I must follow if I can.~
The young hobbit ran to the edge of the road and folded his arms.
"You're late!"

The cart stopped. The grey bearded man turned to the hobbit, looking up at him from under his blue/grey hat.
"A wizard is never late, Toby Baggins." He reaised his head and looked at the hobbit that stood on the embancment. Toby stopped smiling. "Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."
They both looked at each other for a moment before bursting into laughter.

"It's wonderful to see you Fumblemore!" and with that the hobbit jumped at the man, embracing him in a hug. They laughed again and the wizard pulled away.
"You didn't think i'd miss your uncle Grizwald's birthday?" he chuckled again.

------------

The horse and cart drove on through a gate, and the wizard and hobbit were catching up.
"So how is the old rascle?" Fumblemore asked, a long pipe sticking from the side of his mouth "I hear it's going to be a party of special magnificance."
"You know Grizwald. He's got the whole place in an uproar."
Fumblemore chuckled.
"Well that should please him."
"Half the Shires been invited. And the rest are turning up anyway." they both laughed at this.

------------

"So life in the Shire goes on, very much as it has this past age, full of it's own comings and goings, with change coming slowly. If it comes at all. But things are made to endure in the Shire, passing from one generation to the next.
There's always been a Baggins living here under the hill, in Bag End."
Grizwald looked up. "And there always will be." he told himself.
