... For one: I am not the hugest fan of photos.
This got me. This really got me. I love this. There are SO many ways to interpret this it is insane. I love how you made luck out of focus and love so very clear and crisp. Nothing else needs to be seen, so the background is blurred as well. The background does serve a purpose though, we get the nice aesthetically pleasing rule of thirds there, I do like that!
You did a fantastic job on this. This made me smile and I had to think a little bit. I really love it.

it makes no sense. content-wise. if you are trying to make a statement, it is definitely not coming through. all i am seeing is randomness.
why is your d.o.f. so shallow with all the focus on the word love while luck is blurred out? what is the weird architectural background behind the hand, why is it there?
it seems like a good start to a potentially interesting image, but trying to get some kind of meaning out of it is pretty much impossible. the technical aspects of it are just so... random.

I assure you there is no problem.
I just don't enjoy shoving a meaning down someones throat. It's not a riddle or a puzzle, it's a picture with an obvious meaning.
My only suggestion to you is Read the title of the photo like 475 times, then go live your life, then come back and ask me if this photo has no meaning. Maybe then I'll proceed to tell you what you are seemingly unwilling to see.

uh, let me try this again... not all art has to have meaning if it is aesthetically pleasing, you are right. but what i am trying to tell you as a veiwer of this piece is that the meaning that you think is obvious IS NOT clear. it is a photograph that looks like it SHOULD have meaning because of such strong words as luck and love, and a strong title such as hand in hand... yet luck is blurred (which i see someone else has commented on after me), which makes whatever message you are trying to state very unclear. the problem is not with me being unable to wrap my mind around this photograph, the problem is that it is technically lacking as far as having the different aspects of the photograph actually complement the message. these are all things that can be used to your advantage to get the viewer to understand your point. when i saw this photo as an advertisement on the site i was confused by it simply because the technical aspects dont match up. i think it is pretty sad that you cant accept constructive criticism and instead feel like you need to be hostile. as i said before, it is a potentially interesting image that has a good start but is not yet fully realized in my opinion. i'd say thats pretty constructive. take it or leave it.

It's not my place to tell you what you think is good or what is is meaningful or what is beautiful.
The meaning is clear to me, and nothing else need be in the picture. But that is me.
Should every photo be completly clear with no intreptation? Would you like me to re-take it with a poster in the backround with the meaning written on it?
And no your criticism is not constructive, as all you are saying is I don't get it, I don't enjoy it as much as you, it could be better. That does nothing for me in terms of understanding what you want.
The hostility comes from you acting as if your opinion is fact, rather then just an opinion. I really could care less if you like it or not, but don't tell me that my photos are not clear to me. Thank you.

You probably took some classes in art and had someone tell you what to look for and what composes a great peice. Going around convinced you have any fucking clue about what you are talking about, or what is coming out of your mouth.
