Photographic technique is excellent, but it does not rule the picture: it's like you allowed feelings to pop out from the photo and hit the watcher.

So often with a portrait like this, it has that "portrait" quality, which is to say, it's clearly staged. You can see that it was created, like seeing the strings of the puppet if you will. There are no strings here. Only pure emotion, and it's been captured flawlessly.
