Description
As the two enter into Avalar they begin to search for Hunter's village. Time though is not on their side, night approaches and soon searching for the village would be a difficult task. However the night also brought another danger, Shadow Apes. These creatures lurk in the shadows, which in the day aren't a problem for Spyro and Cynder because they have battled numerous times against these enemies. However fighting them at night would give the apes an advantage; after all the night breeds shadows everywhere. As the two fly around, they look for anything that could show them where the village is. Spyro looks aimlessly at anything.
"Tree… tree… rock… hey Cynder, does that look familiar to you?"
"Spyro, I don't thinking pointing to a tree and asking 'Is that familiar?' is going to help me remember where the village is."
"No Cynder I meant that rock formation."
Spyro looks at Cynder, and sees she is clearly unimpressed. She then replies: "That also applies to rocks"
"Well it has to be around here somewhere. Maybe it's over there."
Cynder then beings to get annoyed and snaps back: "Spyro you don't know where the village is! Stop guessing and find something other than a tree."
"First of all, it's a rock formation; secondly if we don't find it soon, we could get into a more dangerous situation. We have to find that village."
"Well then start looking for huts, cheetahs or-"
"Look a raft!"
"Spyro are you…wait a raft, where?"
Spyro points to where the raft is. Cynder looks at where Spyro is pointing and spots the raft. She then remembers that the rock formation Spyro pointed out is where the hermit lives. She then turns to Spyro and embarrassedly says: "Yeah… something like that."
Spyro smiles then replies: "Maybe next time we should get the cheetahs to dart us like they did the first time. It was so much easier that way."
Cynder still embarrassed manages to make a smile, but quickly heads to where the raft is, trying hard to get rid of the embarrassment. Spyro follows and as they approach the location of the raft, they spot the village. The two sigh with relief and head into the village. As they walk though the entrance, a cheetah spots them. He then rushes away shouting: "The dragons are alive! The dragons that saved our village they have returned!"
The two look at each other and start to smile.
"Well that's a good start" Cynder replies.
Spyro nods with agreement and the two head into the centre. As the two walk in, the cheetahs look at them, some of them seem excited, others however look at them with a confused look on their face. This show of mixed emotions starts to make the pair feel a little uneasy. "Why are some filled with excitement, when others look worried?" they thought.
The two walk though unsure whether to smile or not. They both look around as walk though the centre, trying to figure out what's wrong. Spyro then whispers to Cynder in way that it's concealed to the cheetahs: "Keep your guard up Cynder, something is not right."
The two then spot Prowlus and so head towards him. As they approach him, he looks at the duo with a stern look on his face. Spyro then steps toward and decides that the best way to find out what's wrong is to greet him with respect: "Chief Prowlus, I want to thank you for helping us in Warfang. It's a pleasure to meet you again."
Spyro smiles and bows his head, but as a few seconds of silent passes, he raises his head only to see Prowlus has the same stern look on his face. Spyro, now feeling a little awkward, wonders what to say next. Cynder however tries a more direct approach: "Still holding a grudge against dragons then?"
Spyro is completely shocked by what Cynder just said. Prowlus looks at Cynder then replies: "Why are you here?"
"We're looking for Sparx" Cynder tells him. "Hunter may be able to help us. We want to speak with him, if it's possible"
Prowlus looks away from the dragoness, clearly unimpressed by the sight of her. He then remarks: "Hunter isn't here and that dragonfly is not part of my concern."
Spyro's blood begins to boil as he hears Prowlus words, but keeps quiet as Cynder continues to talk to Prowlus.
"Can you tell me where Hunter is?"
"He's in Warfang helping with the reconstruction. Now that you know where he is you can take your leave."
Cynder unimpressed by the cheetah's attitude forcefully asks: "We saved this world and this is the thanks we get?! Prowlus, Spyro almost gave his life to save you, your tribe and all who live in this world, and this is how you are going to thank him?"
Prowlus stares at Cynder with anger in his eyes, and then tries to belittle her by saying: "Why should I listen to you dragoness? We helped you in Warfang, and we lost so many of our brothers in that battle. They lost their lives to stop that dragon war, a war which should have only been fought by you dragons. However fighting each other wasn't enough for you and so you take the battle to us. You then have the guts to ask for help when it's us you should be helping! You have no idea what damage you have done to this tribe… and you don't deserve any of my thanks."
As Spyro hears the battling of words between Cynder and Prowlus, his anger begins to build up. Cynder then spots something that could make the situation even worst. Spyro's scales begin to darken, his eyes start to glow. Cynder loses all focus on Prowlus and runs straight to Spyro. She then quickly says to Spyro: "Let's go… he's not going to help us."
"Then we should make him help us" he suggests as his anger starts to reach a dangerous level.
"Spyro please… just go…" Cynder says with an upset and distressed voice.
Spyro looks into Cynder's eyes. He sees that she is hurt by what he just said and snaps out of his fury. As he calms down he apologies to her, regretting what he just said. He then looks at Prowlus and turns away from him without saying a word. Prowlus now looks at the dragons with a deep concern on his face. The crowd of cheetahs keep quiet as the dragons leave the area. The two, now disappointed about how things turned out, begin to talk to each other. They know it's dangerous to leave, as night has arrived, but there is nothing the two can do to change Prowlus' mind. As they start to leave they hear a voice: "You two come quickly."
They both turn their heads to the direction of the voice. They see a cheetah holding onto a walking stick. He then adds: "Hurry up, before Prowlus sees you."
The two dash inside and as they both enter they reply: "Thanks Meadow."
