Genbu, the Black Tortise and guardian of the North, many have known them as "the Dark warrior" or "Mysterious warrior". They usually have a frowning face but rest assured it's just their resting face. They called themselves as Nox and Nyx when they turned into their human forms.

Like the "Four Auspicious Beasts", they're incredibly gigantic in size both in their original form and human form. However in terms of height, Nyx is shorter than Nox in the height of their human form, however Nyx is usually in his snake form, just smaller. Nox wears heavy armor with a sword by her side while Nyx wears changshan with a spear in his hand.

Compare to the rest of the guardians, Genbu are the most logical and knowledgeable, from different species to otherly knowledge. Unlike the rest of the guardians who like them have retired in the year XX28, they don’t really have a successor that they can passed down but many believe they have decided for L■■■■■■■■ to be their successors. One confirmed is called S■■■■■, their alternate.

In the past Genbu tried to be a mediator for Byakko and Seiryu, but fails and completely stopped after Sukazu has successfully became their mediator instead. Their shell were black in colour, and but soon changed to white with red spots and their one of their eyes have red pupil, they kept their red eye like how the other beasts as a remembrance of [redacted] after the "Battle of Vengeance". They have also decided to become a healer/doctor for the new generation creations, their goal and wish is for everyone to be free of all sickness.
