Basically, a glamour portrait of Raven.The necklace was sort of "well, what if I..."-last minute add-in, and it was silver to start with, but after experimentation I discovered gold better complemented her skintone and added more warmth to the picture. Which it needed, considering it's sort of a Christmas pic.
So, yeah, nother new style. This has been sitting round on my desktop for months, and I just sort of putzed around with it half-heartedly for a long, long time.
I'll likely be submitting a Starfire companion picture that looks extremely similar--I've copied the pose, but there will be several differences.
So yeah, basically, this piece, again, purely for the purpose of drawing a glamorous, sorta sexy pic of Raven. And, once again, I could not help but support my main-loved pairing. (In other words, guess where she got the necklace--dur.)
The title is basically like saying Robin gave Raven this rather romantic and obviously expensive gift for Christmas, and, while fastening it around her neck, whispered in her ear something along the lines of "When you wear it, think of me."
Entirely cornball of me, I know. *grins* But I'm a sucker for cheesy romance.

I love how you did her face and expression, it shows shyer side to Raven. The details on everything are really well done, and the necklace is a perfect final touch (the story behind it is very cute 
One of the things so fascinating about Raven is her overlooked beauty. It's not as noticable as Starfire's, but that's also what makes Raven more appealing, she's the type who doesn't know of her beauty and doesn't show it.
Anyway, enough of my babbling, I really love this picture, it's very lovely. ^_^

Dude! That's a great pic! I do like the idea...maybe, if you don't have a story planned for it, we can use it in another fic? Dunno which one...but if you don't mind, can I think about it? I like the idea of it...
OOOH! I know what!!! How about you and I write a christmas fic together? I've been dying to write one, Rob/Rae centered of course, and probably no more than one or two chapters long and I don't have a plot idea except something that probably wouldn't happen or wouldn't be feasible (I'll tell you abot it later in the next aim session if you're interested)...but how about it? Alright! Now, I'm really gonna focus on this. We should set up a deadline to keep ourselves in line...I know I'm horrible about doing something unless I feel pressured about it...

Yesterday was a HORRID day with me spending basically around 8 hours in one waiting room or the other and ending it with the last 4 hours (almost 5) waiting to see if they could fix my car or not. (In the end, they said they could fix it, but they sent me home with a rental...
SO, I got home super late. Today I'm supposed to pick it up and they close at 8, and the dealership service dept is in BFE, so I don't know when I'll be home. *double

And hey, remember you said you wanted to do something with that other Christmas pic? Well, if you still haven't got anything for it, we could try sliding that scene into this fic as well, if wanna. It might work it might not, s'all up to you.
And as for my schedule... um, tomorrow I'll have most of the afternoon and the entire evening till late. Thanksgiving Thursday I work till noon, maybe a little later, and will be available that night. Friday and Saturday, afternoon-evenings will be good for me, also. Sunday, not so much, because the ramily returns from MS then. They leave tomorrow afternoon.

Lovely picture. I alway adore how you draw her hair, and the way it sits here is quite nice. ...And the necklace does sit quite well with her skin color. It makes for a rather nice contrast, and a break away from all of the cool colors that are normally associated with her. The little pose used here also shows how shy she really can be. Raven isn't really portrayed as a girl-girl on the show, and I'm sure that half the time the guys rarely seem to acknowledge her femininity. That's the writers' fault of course, but I'd love to see her more like this... She really is beautiful in spite of it all.
...Heh, speaking of hopeless romantics... I swear, I'm a sucker for romance. I'd get sentimental if a guy gave me flowers, chocolate...etc. Heck, I think a guy could serenade me and I'd get a little misty-eyed. Well, in the end it's the thought that counts...
I do love imagining her getting that necklace from Robin though. I can so see it...it's so cute.

And yeah, the colors for Raven tend to be very cool, very subtle and subdued. The gold stood out and shone in a way that heightened and accentuated the rest of her coloring. I rather like the effect.
That's another thing that sort of irks me about toon Raven, as she is written for the show. She has almost no sexuality. Aside from the fact that she has breasts and no fear of showing off her legs, she's practically asexual. She isn't even "one of the guys". She's just... Raven. And that's so, soooo different from her comic personification it kills. In the comics, Raven wears a very sexy dress, uses her empathy to (at the beginning) make Kid Flash think he's in love with her, etc., etc.... All of this is very sadly lost in toon Rae.
And, hoo boy, I am the same way. Those silly, sappy romantic things could draw an "awww" outta me just about any day of the week. I'm a tough talker, but a total sap on the inside. Lol, fortunately, none of the people who could use this against me will ever read this. ^^ So I get to keep my reputation as a hardass.
*grins* Who knows, maybe there'll be a story for this one too, someday. No promises, just a thought.

(Sigh) I feel like I'm about to open up a can of worms here...but it almost seems that in contrast to Raven, Starfire is always the one that gets all of the focus. Every other opportunity is used to refer to Starfire's dazzling beauty... (For Real, anyone?), while ol' Raven is tossed to the wayside. We see her in a dress once...in Mother Mae-Eye of all episodes.
...I know that she's unable to have emotions. Everyone that even knows a whit about her knows that fact. Does that somehow subtract from her character design? ...Maybe. It is possible that they somehow equate emotion with beauty...that being able to express how you feel makes you a more beautiful person...
Or maybe they were simply struck with a bout of laziness. I don't think that they spent too much time analyzing Raven's character to come to a conclusion like that.
...Then again, I have been surprised before.

I really, really wish they would do more with Raven in that light. And it isn't even that Raven cannot feel anything, it's just that she has to be very careful about emotional extremes, and keep a tight grip on separating the feeling from affecting her powers. It can be done. In the comics, when she is reincarnated, she no longer has the threat of Trigon hanging over her, only her own personal darkness and the dangers of control, but I do believe she keeps gaining more control over her abilites and emotions. I mean, she ends up taking an alias and going to highschool. The emotional warzone. That speaks a lot to me.
And all they've ever done for Raven romantically was Malchior. That's it, right there. And they gave her an attraction to Aqualad. Raven needs to be seriously cut a romantic break or two, yanno?
*sighs and shakes her head* I just think there's lot of potential going untaped in Raven's character, and it's a very sad waste for the writers to continue neglecting the possibilites for her. But then again, I suppose this is why I write fanfiction, huh?
And don't get me started on Starfire. Argh. A long, long rant.

Nina: Collar-bones! (Points to her collar bone) Well-done collar bones! Lovely~! ... Yeah, I point out really bizarre things, when I point things out. But I do like her form in this picture. Her hair is also a good point on the picture. It looks so soft and silky, almost like a pouring liquid. It's a cute picture of Raven, and a realy good take on these sort of nude-but-not-NC17 styles. (She looks a little embarassed to me, like someone noticed the necklace from Robin, or something...)
Unfortunately, I have to say her lips don't look quite right. With her skin-tone, they look... Well, they don't seem to fit. Like, they're floating off the rest of her body. However, that's the only real problem I could see with the picture. I hope you do the Starfire one soon! (Smiles)

As for her mouth, I'm personally rather satified with it at the moment, but I might try playing around with the lips later, see if I don't come up with something I like better. I get what you're saying, and it's probably because the lipcolor is so dark. I was trying to do a lipstick thing, and I didn't much care for several other colors that I tried (clashed badly with her hair color) so I ended up just giving her this really shiny blue lipstick or whatever.
