Main figure photo - xstockx - [link]I just couldn't resist it was such a perfectly beautiful shot and then I had to go and mess with it.... heh.

-haven't a clue who's stock windows those are, as funny as this might sound or my eyes have gone wacky I can't find it in my stock images folder. Bizarre. Apparently it just appeared out of nowhere somehow. I have a bad pain in my right eye that's affecting my recognition at the moment.
Personally I don't like a vast amount of white, but somebody else might not mind that as much as I do. It's not 100% perfect, but neither am I.

A little update (11/21/2007): Thankyou to all the people out there in Deviantland. I'd like to just take a moment to say thankyou to *tonare & ^emciem, be as kind to them as they were to me and also consider xstockx coz without her I wouldn't have had anything to work on that day. The DD means alot to me as I just turned 41 on Nov 20th and this is in fact what I would consider my 3rd birthday present plus... I'm unemployed after 3 years so it's brightened my spirits back up. Again thanks.

i swear i feel like this all the time... just the fact that she has a missing panel on her back, one of her legs is incomplete, and that she has bolts holding her joints together makes me really identify with this piece. i can definately see why this got a DD. congrats!

lol. perhaps we all do at times when we're working all day and going through the motions, like machines. especially when our joints are hurting and or legs are sore so much you feel as though you just lie to cut 'em off they hurt so bad.

it's actually a girl (poser render i blured out, duplicated, and flipped over and added blacked out hair. i was trying to be melo dramatic like it had something to do with the figure and something to do with her mind.

I can see why you hate the white... It easily distracts away from the figure.
Anyways, the joints look quite lovely. Very well done and the only flaw would be that they aren't evenly matched on both sides. Who cares about matching though?
I just hope this concept of an android never goes beyond that. Its a terrifying thought really.

I meant the joints themselves. Like you'd see a joint on one section of the leg and it would not be in that same section on the other one.

The "Vast amount of white" can easily distract from the figure. a sharper contrast may fix that, or maybe some shading around the outline.
Also the Placement of the mysterious windows throws off the balance given the leg position. But you'll have that with rebellious ninja-windows. maybe moving them left more would help.
All things considered, this is a wonderful piece. I demonstrates a mastery of layers and photoshop in general.

i spent quite a while trying to figure out what else to put behind her. it was a diificult decision. i was originaly just going to leave it the cream color which i probably should have done.

That may work, but I like the Idea of windows. it gives it a domestic feel.
Just try putting them a little left of the center to balance against the object.

You're exactly right and I was going to do that as I had moved them around several times... but... the thought in my head for leaving them more to the right... on a desktop... leaving room for icons(though sometimes I just don't care about that). Perhaps I should have just used one where the left one is positioned. Coz personally I dislike the contrast of the sock against the window in the back but left it anyway.
I'll tell ya I certainly didn't expect to have this today with so many people commenting and such. It's a little overwhelming.
