You can, I didn't know a thing a year ago. I went through a few tutorials here on DA and then went through all the videos here [link] and learnt loads. The best thing is find a picture that you really like with all the stocks mentioned, download them and try and duplicate it. If you get stuck I'm sure the owner of the original will help you out, especially if you explain your not going to upload it your just practising. I think artists are more receptive to a question about a particular part of the picture rather then just asking how did you do it? If you need any more help let me know.

The bowl kinda looks like an air filter from a car. xD Heehee. But yeah, this caught my eye because of the orange fall colors and the placid water, it's really a pretty peice.
