Description
I had fun with this. xD Indi here btw!The top one I modeled after a rhino a bit with clearly equine body and head and everything. With a lion's tail like unicorns tend to be depicted with and a curving solid horn that is a good thing to charge with and impale people and creatures with. I can see this one being omnivorous and both grazing in a herd as well as hunting in packs. Those hooves would make for solid weapons along with that deadly charge and horn! It's inspired by both the old tales of the karkadann ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karkadan…) and how even in the oldest European tales the unicorn was quite vicious - even in Pliny the Elder's "Natural History" collection ( www.wired.com/2015/02/fantasti…). Long story short you don't want this thing coming after you!
Then I did a cousin of the unicorn above. The top one I can see living in the great plains of North America and going after big prey animals like bison, elk, deer, moose, and the like as well as the small ones of rabbit, hare, gopher, and groundhog. Also I could see it turning the tables on any would-be predator like wolf and mountain lion and coyote by getting the pack to help it hunt the predator instead! The bottom unicorn is something I can see living in the thick rainforest however.
This one I could see being more vegetarian and sometimes eating monkeys and bird eggs and the like that it can get its mouth on. But mostly fruit and veggies since there's a nice abundance in the rainforest. The horn is longer and thinner proportionally than the more violent large cousin. This one I can see being the size of a medium-sized dog or something. The top one I can see being the size of fully-grown elk or moose. The small rainforest cousin is more docile, sociable, less aggressive due to the abundance of food, and very colorful to blend into the colorful rainforest. Like the birds of paradise that can afford to preen, look spectacularly wild in the males to impress the females, and have elaborate courtship rituals and dance, I can see the small little colorful unicorn doing the same. Long fur and mane and tail hairs in colors of blues, greens, reds, and purples, and a tiny small dainty body with long horn. I based the body off the Afghan Hound ( www.dogbreedsinfo.eu/images/do…) along with the long hairs of that dog, and the hairs of the silky terrier ( www.md10.eu/Blogs/Best%20Dog%2… )
The top one I can see being a terrifying steed to ride into war and scare the crap out of your enemies. Seriously imagine this being the size of a bull moose (bigger than most horses) with medieval armor and a fully armored knight on its back. And it's charging at you with its head lowered and horn reading to impale your chest. ...OUCH!!! Time to RUUUUUN!
The bottom one I can see being like something people would want to domesticate as a fancy pretty pet. xD Poor thing might have trouble like the wild parrots and wild fish in the pet trade of being stolen from its homes and forcibly bred in captivity to match the increasing demands. Poor thing. O.e;;;
Anyways enjoy and let me know what you think? I'd love to hear it! :3
