ZelenΓ‘'s farmwork-tempered muscles thrashed and yanked defiantly against the chain clasped around her neck, but a busy day and a sunless night had her stocky frame trembling with exhaustion. Any vines she summoned to help simply wilted, and her remaining strength couldn't even make the restraint creak."Bay! Bay!!"
She barked frustratedly up toward the house, even knowing her cries wouldn't reach her trainer. If only she'd fallen asleep by his side instead of passing out in the shed... but no, she couldn't have predicted this. There was no time to fall down that spiral. She needed to act.
"Grrrr!"
Zel planted her feet and tugged again, leaning forward with all her weight and pushing off the floor with her powerful legs. The painful choking of the collar made her whimper, tempting her to resume pulling sharply, but she knew that would only exhaust her more quickly. She grit her teeth and weathered through it, pouring everything she had into breaking free.
"Can't... give up... Master... needs me!"
