Tabloid is a Japanese Drama television series from 1998, and it is fabulous. The side stories were great, I loved the main cast, and it also has Koichi Sato, who I also enjoy very much. I highly recommend this show, as it really shows Sanada's range in terms of playing a character, who in some ways is incredibly unlikable, but also absolutely heartbreaking and sweet. I don't know, Mr. Sanada just has the skills to see all the parts of characters, and not just inhabit them on a surface level. Manabe Toshihiko is, frankly probably my second most favorite of his characters, and certainly my favorite from all the other shows he was on in Japan, though to be fair, there are still several shows that I cannot find anywhere... which in my opinion is a travesty worthy of a crusade. I want to see all of them, but... sigh. The Hunt for buried Sanada Hiroyukisan treasure continues...
