has a competition running, where entrants post a picture of his main character in a dynamic pose. the competition ends with august, so i hope to submit more pieces by then; but this is what i worked on today. i didn't take this piece seriously at all. i just wanted to do a silly caricature in a funny pose. i have a strange inclination towards 70's funk and related dance moves/hair trends - they're oddly fun to draw...

it didn't take very long to do the pencil version. i used two reference pictures from the comic, but i hope to have conveyed my own style in this picture as well - perhaps it may be seen as a compromise between the two. i don't really like my portrayal of muscles, and i don't think i did the character's outfit very well, but i hope that this picture finds a receptive audience. this is the first of four versions of the same picture...
