Description
i had the idea for this during a conversation with andrew. he was somewhat reluctant/unaccustomed to helping me elaborate on the story, so most of this came from my own head. i sat down the next day, determined to do something productive with my free time, and a sketchy comic was the end result. i then decided to transfer this to my computer and use my drawing package.

as things turned out, the bulk of the comic is drawn using corel painter, with the only the original panel being used as a reference point. my progress has been pretty slow, and i still don't know my way around painter that well, so i've only managed four panels thus far (there as something like 22 in my sketchy version...). i realise how long this will take, and other things may crop up and temprarily set me back (i've still to do a little birthday-something for my father). i like posting things when they are complete, but i thought that i had made some good work today, and i think that the first four panels stand up pretty well just by themselves.

i'll post the rest of the panels in my 'scraps' section, as i don't want to clutter my main deviation area with twenty-odd single-panel drawings of bees. for your information, i couldn't work out how to format the comic into a 2x2 panel arrangement - not without considerable effort and repeated trips upstairs to my old pc, anyhow. plus, i didn't want to downsize the panels and lose any of the painstaking detail, for i am quite proud of some of these images.

please notice that the bee is travelling to the right, and that the background moves in accordance with this. i had originally planned on doing one incredibly long strip - but that just seems absurd now, when i consider the logistics involved. if you save all the panels to your computer, then view them as a slideshow, you will notice that the position of the bee never changes - another detail i am quite proud of. i feel the comic will look better if viewed this way.
