I'm still alive!!

Its been a bit of time since I last put something here and I gotta say i'm happy it was this. I started this in Illustrator at the beginning of the last semester but never got around to finishing it. I did however recently acquired Affinity Photo and Designer and I can put in a little review of it right here.

For casual artist like myself the Affinity software's beat out the Adobe products by a land slide because there cheaper and have some really cool features that the Adobe counterparts don't have. Likewise, Affinity is still missing some other feature that will be added in updates to come. Going from a Illustrator file to a Designer file I didn't like that my vector lines that had their line weights adjusted in Illustrator were turned into fills instead of the normal lines with nodes. The way line weight works in Affinity is that you can make a preset pressure(that's what they call it) and that will be applied to the entire line no matter the size. Again the trouble is you can't change the weight very easily at certain points and have to do that for ever line. Also, it has a built in stock photo tab that can pull free stock photos from three sources that, again, are totally free to use. Again, for casual artist like my self i cant recommend checking out Affinity and its programs enough. It might not topple Adobe down, but boy is it gonna give it a run for its money.
