Description
The music began to play and Jack entered the arena on the colourful Hototo-Cross mare, Lotus. The mare gave a nice passage, until they reached the middle of the arena, where she smoothly switched into a passage, while her rider nonchalantly swung a leg over the mare's back, looking behind them, followed by putting his fingers in his mouth and giving a loud whistle.

Just that moment four more animals were let into the arena, all obviously knowing exactly what they were meant to do and placing themselves in a half-circle in front of the piaffing mare and her rider.
The newcomers were Palinka, the mangaliza pig, Mr. Big, the miniature stallion, Chiyo the shiba inu and last, but not least the delicate little petunicorn, Cricket.
Once all four animals had found their place, Jack slipped off Lotus' back, with a gentle motion making the mare perform a turn on the forehand, stepping back to stand in line with the other animals.

Standing in front of them, Jack began to step on the spot, which all five animals immediately joined in, all performing a piaffe. Jack then lifted both his hands high, all five animals rearing up. Once they were back on all fours he lifted one finger and all four sat down.
Jack, stepping forward, poked Lotus' nose, the mare giving a neigh. Then Palinka, the pig giving a little squeak. Then Big, who again gave a neigh. Then Chiyo who gave a bark and finally Cricket, who gave a tiny little whinny. Jack bowing down towards him, while Lotus got back to her feet and walked to stand beside him.
And just when Jack poked Cricket's nose again, she gave a thundering draft neigh, making Jack tumble forward dramatically, followed by turning around and raising a scolding finger at Lotus, who lowered her head and hid it behind a slightly lifted front leg.

Turning around, he then mentioned for them to follow. All five animals following him in a row around the arena. At the gates he was handed a red painted plank with red cloth on it.
Leading his animals to the middle of the arena, Jack stopped Lotus. The mare waiting calmly, when he placed the plank on her backside and like she never had done anything else, Palinka went it up backwards and lowered her head, when Jack placed the plank on her shoulder.
Big climbed the pigs back and soon enough also Chiyo was standing on the miniature horse's back. Little Cricket finishing the Venetian Stadtmusikanten.

Jack putting away the plank, turned around and with another dramatic gesture presented his artists, who all looked mighty pleased with themselves.
Turning around and giving another little whistle, Jack lifted his arms a bit and without hesitation Cricket jumped off the animal pyramid and into Jack's arms, followed by Chiyo doing the same.
Meanwhile Lotus had started to lower herself, Big hopping off her back and Palinka just slipping off it, when the mare was down on her belly.

Once again the animals formed their line with Jack beside Lotus giving a bow and his animals again immediately following his example. With that he turned on his heels and pranced off, his harlequins at his heels.

My entry for 's Venetian Carnival, which I didn't want to miss out on ever since I had the idea for this pic. Lucky enough, today I had a surprise day off, so what better an opportunity to finish it. ;3
Now you know why Jack didn't perform in that many shows lately. He had to teach five animals to perform a pyramid. ;3
