Description
I made this for school, to illustrate a scene in The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer. This is the scene where Felicia is poisoning the hamburger with laudanum.Made (as always) in Inkscape.
(yes, I know the cap should be off the bottle, I just didn't feel like doing that.

Your shading has improved a lot, but the shading on bottle and hand seems to come from different directions still. Also, the shadow is weird, and makes it look like the hand is directly up in front of a wall. Try to draw a lightsource first (e.g. above the hand, so that you can keep the hand as-is) and then adjust the shading on the bottle a little, and then just put the shadows on the floor that the plate is sitting on. That will "solidify" the feeling that the plate is actually sitting on some solid interface rather than floating in mid-air.
