  It was once again the Haunted Hootenanny! Festivities were in full swing with activities and treats for folk of all ages. Apple bobbing was popular with druid kits, there was what looked like a sweets-tasting contest for those who loved baking, haunted houses, and hedge mazes for those who wanted a spook or an adventure. But the most exciting part for Grove-born Kits is most definitely trick or treating! While most of it consisted of dressing up in costumes, many of said costumes being scary predators or local fauna but some were from old world media, and knocking on the doors of your neighbors or of businesses to try and impress the folk who answers, so you can rewarded with some delicious candy.
  For Limey, this idea mostly stood true. During the beginning of the festivities, he did mostly standard trick-or-treating, gathering as much candy as possible. But really, he was doing this for Ratt who was stuck inside his hospital room during the entire event. Not wanting his friend to feel left out, he did his best to surprise him with a full basket of anything you could imagine! From chocolate bars to gummies and from lollipops to caramels, Limey got anything and everything for his friend and had a grand time sharing his goodies, but of course, they couldn't eat them all! Leaving a small fortune's worth of candy for Ratt, Limey eventually had to leave back for the Den, it was getting quite late and he would be under the Den mother's wrath if he didn't get into bed by curfew.
  As he made his way back into the heart of the grove, the halls were still bustling with life, a sure-fire way to tell that the Haunted Hootenanny was in the hearts and minds of all the folk. Limey padded past folk left and right as if making a bee-line straight for the Den, but that didn't mean he couldn't be distracted! As he blurred past clumps of folk, he noticed something quite interesting- A group of kits trading candy! This was a novel idea to Limey as he made his way over to the group, a way to get the candy you want and get rid of the stuff you don't, while others get the candy you want while getting rid of what they don't. It was brilliant to him and he started to rummage through his basket to pick out any of the candy he didn't feel too keen about eating himself. Approaching the group, he asked if any would like to trade with him, holding out some wrapped candy to the others. A shy-looking blue folk smiled back at him and offered some candy of their own.
  "Deal!" Limey smiled mischievously yet innocently as he got some candy he valued a lot more than what he gave away.
  He made a few more exchanges before realizing the time, saying goodbye, and starting back to the den. he always wondered if he was the only one who worried about getting in trouble with the Den mamas, or if it was mostly due to him not wanting to have others think Ratt makes others do bad things as well. he shrugged it off as just silly thoughts and popped a candy into his mouth, Ratt is a good kit and a friend he holds dear. He doesn't understand why the others don't like him. Regardless, he got to his bed, took his costume off, and settled in for the night, cozying up with his bucket of candy, lamp, and a nice book. As he finally decided to get some sleep, he noticed his stomach hurt a bit, but figured he just at too much candy, and just went to bed hoping that the pain would be gone in the morning.
