Description Ruin and destitution.
Plague and pestilence, and famine.
Fallen city walls.
Sunken ships.
Rejected marriages.
Failed business.
Lost wars.

It was only as it was prophesied that the heir would die before the king, whose second son would promptly loose his mind, that they began to see the pattern.

No positive answers.
Not a single positive answer all day.

The gods, it seemed, were furious.
Someone must have angered them.
Who, would be anyones guess.

And asking the oracle didn't help either.
At all.
Everyone had angered the gods it seemed.
Why?
Did the gods need a reason?

This is where a desperate scuffle began, in order to make things better.
And make the gods forgive them for… what ever it was.
Everything from burn-sacrifices, til libations.
Everything was tried.
No effect.
In a last ditch effort, they had started rounding up anyone, and everyone, who had been near the temple in the last days, and bringing them in front of the oracle.

- Was it him?
- Yes.
- What about him?
- Yes.

Yes, yes, yes….

- This is the last person on our list… has he angered the gods?
- Yes.

How does one make sense of something like that?
What does one do?
Why did this happen?
Why right now?

The real reason?
The oracle of Delphi had raging headache.
The fumes only made it worse.

Such a simple thing.
Yet…
No one would think to check for it.
And so…
Until nightfall…
The gods would continue to spew perdition on mankind.
