They would ask her...somewhat mockingly...
If she thought it would stick this time.
A she ran about the woodlands.
Trying to get spring going...
She would laugh
Oh no. No no, this is a northern country, give it a couple of days... it will be snowing again.
So why do you do it?
Because it is my job. Because it is expected of me.
Expected of her.
Well of course it was.
Spring had to start.
Starting it was her job.
And this was the day.
So she had no choice but to do it.
She would do it.
For a while it would seem like winter was over.
Leaves would sprout.
The earliest spring flowers would slowly show amongst the dead leaves from yesteryear.
Then, a couple of days would pass.
And just as she had said...
it was snowing.
Starting spring in the north was at least a three step job.
