Description
A sketch commission for of her original character Xenos. This was a unique request, since she gave me almost unlimited creative freedom in order to create MY ideal design for the guy (which is probably why I spent WAY too much time on this. Oh well, at least it was fun).
Those smaller disks can orbit the "hub rings" on his back, and can also elongate into the feather-like shapes you see pictured.

Because I absolutely love this. Derianlirim said a lot stuff I wanted to say already, but...
Yes, you absolutely nailed the "equal parts magic and cybernetic" aspect of Xenos' existence. He is beautiful and elegant, but his posture also conveys power and a will to use that power, which, again, is exactly what I asked for, and you delivered in spades. His appearance here is, as you often put it, sublime: beautiful, yet terrifying. Majestic, awesome.
Or, in other words, exactly what he is supposed to be.
I especially love your interpretation of his wings: they're a lot more elegant than my original clunky design. And the infamous butt-cape came out similarly beautiful. And his armor is gorgeous. The shapes are simple, which is good, because that means they'll be easy to draw, but the circuits on those pieces still give them that all-design flair.
In all, you delivered on every criterion I asked for, and delivered them in spades, and I couldn't be happier with the results!
Finally, I commissioned this because I wanted to get my noggin' a-joggin and pin down a design for this character, and my noggin is, indeed, a-joggin. This is exactly the inspiration I needed and I can't wait to get some free time so I can finally sit down and finalize his design.

I can see why she gave you creative reigns, because the designs you come up with are consistently unique and visually exciting. Seriously, every character you've ever come up with I can safely say I've never seen a character quite like in some form or another. Especially with more sci-fi oriented or Godly characters. This machine-like character is no exception. Despite being a machine, Xenos' face almost looks ancient, with the grid and gem-like optics scattered across his face, all interconnecting. And his wings, the almost halo-like thing on his back honestly almost makes me think like he's some sort of God or otherworldly being.
But what always makes your designs so special are the little simple touches on top of the big, intricate ones. Such as the fact that his horns have an electric pulsation connecting them like a classic robot out of, say, Lost in Space. Or the way his lower wings feel almost like an insect, which is fitting, given his very insect-like legs and those razor sharp claws of his.
The look you've given Xenos is simultaneously badass and imposing, yet also very abstract and almost enchanting. I seriously don't know how you manage to come up with such great designs, but it's truly a gift and then some, my friend! ^^
