Description
One more pic from the enchanted forest.This shot was taken in Autumn 2007 near Clausthal in the Harz-Mountains. For those who are familiar with the region, it shows a small path near the 'Nassenwieser Teich'.
Some Elves or other fantasy beings may be just around the corner.

Local tales tell that these woods are populated by gigants, witches and dwarfs.

It is beautiful and it is an area where many german fairy tales come from. According to legends this region is mainly populated by darker creatures, but some miles south of this when you leave the mouniains and come to to an lower area with milder climate you will enter the land where the fairys live.

Das ist quasi aus der HΓΌfte geschossen, ich hatte keine Lust das Stativ Kilometerweit durch den Wald zu schleppen. Zum GlΓΌck hatte ich ne einigermassen ruhige Hand und genug Licht.

Thanks, It's the European version of a temperate rain forest. The lord of the rings movie convinced me that you can also find something like this in New Zealand.

Haha, yeah. I've actually been to the filming locations in New Zealand, but they're mainly just big fields, and sadly I didn't own an SLR at the time. Yeah, I'll have to look into lush forests, the kind of forests we get where I am tends to be grey and drab. Indeed this photo has inspired me, I feel eager to go on a day trip somewhere and get shots like this!
