Making that sound would confuse the animal.

For that shot, I used my 5D Mark II camera with a Sigma 150-500mm lens.

Gorgeous markings... Great photo.
I wonder how they select the next breeding match in zoos. I sure hope they're not selecting for aesthetics... Too many of the beautiful cats I see in zoos are fancier and noticeably different than their wild ancestors and still-wild kin. Not really a good reservoir of genetics anymore in that case. Like that pug-nosed white tiger. That's never going to be fit to breed replacements for extinct wild tigers, in that event.
Wonderful cat, very beautiful, but quite unusually defined and distributed coloring and markings there. Makes me worry, lol. But lovely photo, good work.

Of that, I am unaware. I'm not even sure of this bobcat's gender.

If I recall, it's a bobcat, which closely resembles the lynx. They're closely related.

Yes, I believe the Lynx have a much furrier look too. Beautiful Bobcat picture!

Yes, the bobcats belong to the genus Lynx (don't know how to write in italics). But while the other species of the genus are called lynx, this guy just need to be a special snowflake, I am wondering why is that...

I will have to read up on it. I believe the Bobcat is called a "Bobcat" because of its bobbed tail. However, the Lynx have a bobbed tail as well.
