This is a 3d rope I made following this tutorial [link] I really enjoyed doing it, despite having to work around not having the knife tool by guessimating and extruding the extra loops out to make the 8 sections, and hunting down something else, I forget what it was but other than a minor update issue it's easy to work it out if you match up your view to the tutorial's view. Those little bumps along the seems is a slight bug that happens with the Blender array. Once I apply it then it goes away. It's really a nice time saving tool. But I will require a read only runtime, I think. I can totally imagine many uses for this technique, and not just ropes either

You'll notice that I am also experimenting with the light a little by adding a sun.
