Description
Our first portrait. We had a limited palette, which was red oxide, cold black, and white for the basic portrait, and then were allowed to go over with a few "glazing" colors and the background. Because I was so limited to red oxide in the beginning, his skin color came out a little too red.I liked the brushwork I ended up with on this one, and I wish I had a better digital camera so you could see the detail work. I got the proportions a little off, mostly due to impatience, and he's got a really big glare on his cheekbone/eye area that wasn't really that intense, but otherwise I'm pretty pleased.
