What if a British SciFi Thriller Drama reboot of the Mexican Telenovela Marimar had the style of Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio?

For those who don't know this Mexican Telenovela: Marimar is a Mexican Telenovela about a rags to riches girl that seeks revenge against the family of her husband for her arrest and the murders of her grandparents.

How I would make it work: This film speaks to me, it's one of the best film I've seen since Pixar's Coco. Unlike Disney's remake, this one takes place when the world went mad, it explores themes such as life, death, morals, war, love, democracy vs Fascism and family. That's what I want for the Aldama-Santibañez family in Donald Simpson's United Kingdom. And if the director and producer himself, the mighty Guillermo del Toro would be the producer, even better.
