Where was this door?
Lots of people should get prepared, best adventuring gear, coils of rope, ancestral swords, armour glinting in the sun, and just about to peak on FAR too many sacred mushrooms... all step through the door together, to other worlds, meetings with ancient gods, wanders through the caverns of their own incredible selves, each to have a different and amazing experience. Then afterwards they come back and tell the world, and because they all bring back a different story, scientists dismiss it and say it wasnt real. Just like in Contact.
